Now that LCD screens have found their way even to mass storage devices - Corsair ReadOut we reviewed earlier, it's hard to think of anything new to add to a USB Flash device. Corsair keeps surprising, now with Survivor concept of tough USB memory with nice 8 GB capacity.

I remain very impressed with the Survivor GT and would consider it an invaluable asset in my tech tool kit.

Both of these Corsair Flash drives offer some unique features and advantages over competing flash drive solutions. Both are extreme secure in their own ways: the Survivor is by far the most durable flash drive I have ever used and the Padlock is by far the easiest and best secured.

Today I will be taking a look at the Corsair Flash Survivor . The Survivor comes in two sizes, a 4GB and 8GB version. We have the 8GB version on our test bed. Let's take a look and see just how durable it is. Corsair have been making high performance memory modules and products since 1994.

The Survivor is certainly the toughest drive in the group, thanks to its screw-on aluminium outer casing and watertight seals. This makes it rather chunky, but it feels indestructible. The drive comes with the free 256-bit TrueCrypt encryption software.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Corsair Survivor 32GB Ultra Rugged USB 2.0 Flash Drive is one tough mother. After enduring things that a regular USB drive would have disintegrated in, it's safe to say that the Corsair Survivor is really a survivor.

We previously reviewed the 8GB version of the Survivor and were impressed enough to give it a Kick Ass award, due in part to its ability to survive our extensive series of durability tests unscathed.

Corsair08 It's not difficult to determine where the wedge hit the SURVIVOR. And the bent nature of the USB connector. Such was the impact of the wedge, that it was practically impossible to unscrew the cylinder from the drive. Two wrenches had to be used to remove the outer section.

This State of the Art flash drive is great for me as I need to back up not only my home computer, but my work one with it. It's VERY durable and quick to upload onto. And at this price, I would recommend it to anyone!
