I purchased this for my husband who walks several miles every day. He wanted something he could carry on his person and be certain it could withstand perspiration, rain, temperature extremes, etc. So far, this drive has held up well. He purchased a dog tag type chain and wears it under his shirt.
I purchased this drive expecting durability, but in fact it survives only by very careful treatment, not everyday wear and tear. It is less than year old, and the rubber gasket around the USB plug has come off.
This State of the Art flash drive is great for me as I need to back up not only my home computer, but my work one with it. It's VERY durable and quick to upload onto. And at this price, I would recommend it to anyone!
"...damaged, I'm fairly clumsy... Anyway the Corsair Survivor looked absolutely ideal. It's crafted from corrugated anodised aluminium so it is unlikely to be crushed. The stick actually has a fine threaded screw, which is very nicely made to get it out which is cool; these have rubber seals in...
Very rugged; waterproof; shockproof etc .
Some may get annoyed with unscrewing it
pocket sized hardrive.
Capacity and secure from elements
price; which is dropping all the time
Build quality is great Looks really cool. 32GB is plenty of storage for a portable drive. I use it as a pro photographer for transferring large amounts of images. Via USB 3 its extremely fast. The progress bar flies along. Rapid file transfer.
The usb stick is rugged, feels well made and is fast! This replaced my old 120G sandisk. this one looks to be static proof i hope.
Corsair08 It's not difficult to determine where the wedge hit the SURVIVOR. And the bent nature of the USB connector. Such was the impact of the wedge, that it was practically impossible to unscrew the cylinder from the drive. Two wrenches had to be used to remove the outer section.
Both of these Corsair Flash drives offer some unique features and advantages over competing flash drive solutions. Both are extreme secure in their own ways: the Survivor is by far the most durable flash drive I have ever used and the Padlock is by far the easiest and best secured.
