Corsair Obsidian 450D Chassis Review

KitGuru says: This is a good, effective case however the stock fans are too noisy. It doesn't take much work to fix it up but that shouldn't be necessary.

Smart appearance; Dust filters are simple to remove; clean and replace; The free flow nature of the case gives epic cooling; Plenty of space for a huge graphics card and CPU cooler; Reasonable price; Loads of options for installing after-market cooling

The stock Corsair fans are too noisy and don't have speed controllers; Not enough room for tidying away the cables; Flimsy side panels flex too much and can be awkward to replace

Corsair Obsidian 450D Mid-Tower Computer Case

Corsair is pumping out cases at a high pace; one could think this leads to a lesser design or a lower build quality. Corsair wouldn't be Corsair if every detail hasn't been verified twice.

Corsair Obsidian 450D Review

As a case manufacturer, Corsair's quest is now complete. Just recently it filled out its product stack with a mini-ITX model, the ) all of which fall under its Obsidian brand. However, while technically complete that doesn't mean there's isn't room for a few more additions.

Corsair Obsidian Series 450D Mid-Tower PC Case Review

Remember when Volvo was "Boxy but safe?" While Corsair's new Obsidian 450D may not hit that point exactly, it does pretty darn well in the "Boxy but with a roomy interior that’s optimized for airflow.

About as good as it gets.

I also have a 250D from Corsair. The obsidian line takes are definitely the best cases I've come by. Corsair also has rock solid customer service for anything that goes wrong. Just log in and submit a ticket - chances are your new part will be shipped the next day!

- Tons of fan/radiator mounting options - Magnetic dust filters on top; front; and bottom - this thing is very easy to clean - Excellent cable management - Excellent drive mounting (has 2x SSD brackets behind the motherboard); and tons of room to expand on the existing 3.5" mounts - Looks clean and...

Pros

My first case was defective out of the box, the front fan grill/panel's mounting points are made of thin, weak plastic that after some use have the potential to break. I bought the case for the looks (mostly) which doesn't disappoint.

Looks; dust filters; fans included; zip ties included; black everything

Front panel defect; flimsy side panels and drive caddy; limited tie down points for cables; short front panel connectors; 5.25" bay mounting does not line up with front fascia

"Great case for a great price"

If you are looking for a good quality, low price case then look no further than the Corsair Obsidian 450D. This case is one I just love, the fit and finish of it are just impeccable. The front face panel pops off nicely but can pop off its clips when you pick it up so pay attention for that.

Sturdy, high quality chassis.

I have no complaints about this case. It is solid and has great fit and finish. I have not had an issue with the front grille, knock on wood. It has a reputation for breaking the latch hooks. As such, I don't take it off often and when I do, I am gentle. The features of this case are great.

Case for Builders

When building my new computer I was just going to recycle my old case, but when I checked in to cooling I went with a new case. My son recommended I Corsair and since I was using a cooling unit from Corsair, it was a no brainer.
