This review rounds out our complete coverage of Cisco's revamped Linksys E series of wireless routers. The E2500 is one step below the E3200 , with 10/100 ports vs. Gigabit and no USB port for drive sharing. You could easily confuse the E2500 and E3200 since both enclosures are virtually the same.

It was easy to set up with a program that nicely discovered my setup, and allowed me to connect multiple devices and platforms to it with no conflicts or confusion. In short order I had an iMac, a Windows PC, an Apple TV and an iPhone all connected and working.

Wireless N does not work with iPhone

iPhone 4S only connects in wireless G. I reconfigured the router many different ways, updated firmware, and this router will not connect an iPhone in Wireless N. I wasted my money on this.

The router seems to be working well. As yet I have to test the Wi-Fi in the opposite side of my unit but if that works then all is well.

"Wireless Router"

I was told that this product would work for what I wanted for. My husband & I were unable to make it work. We are going to have a friend look at it first before returning it or we may just toss it.

Just Good...nothing exceptional!

The router seems good but no great enhancement of range. I guess the premium price is due to the brand. But I must say it's super easy to configure. Also, it's gives you option to configure guest WiFi just in case you don't want to share your passcode of the main connection.

Good for Basic Users

This is a nice basic router but the parental controls are so restrictive. I cannot modify the times for access beyond what Cisco expected people to want them set to.
Pros:
  • Parental Controls
Cons:
  • Parental Controls

poor range

I upgraded to this router after I had compatibility issues between my wrt54gs2 router and my wireless security cameras. The compatibility issues were solved but this router has very poor range so I'm having to spend another $80 or so on a range extender.

Wi Fi issues

Pinging the gateway with around a 5-10ms response time, 2 feet from the router.
Pros:
  • I'm not sure
  • It works...
Cons:
  • Consistant connection loss
  • dropped packets
  • sluggish response from router over Wi-Fi
