Good product
I purchased this to replace the Netgear router that I had for my apartment. But since we moved to a bigger home; the Netgear no longer worked. This gets me much better service in my bedroom whereas before, I kept getting messages that said my network was down.

Good for Basic Users
This is a nice basic router but the parental controls are so restrictive. I cannot modify the times for access beyond what Cisco expected people to want them set to.
Pros:
- Parental Controls
Cons:
- Parental Controls

Back in Business
My Internet was so slow, I was ready to give up on it. I researched the possible fixes and concluded it must be the router. I replaced a Netgear N600 with this dual band router and the difference is like night and day. The wireless speed is remarkable, better than it has ever been.

Performs as expected
After having a frustrating time with a Netgear router, I purchaced this Cisco Linksys E2500. It has worked flawlessly from right out of the box. Is fast easy to set up and good range. Could not ask for anything more.
Pros:
- Easy set up
- good wireless range
- reliable
Cons:
- Nothing to report

It was easy to set up with a program that nicely discovered my setup, and allowed me to connect multiple devices and platforms to it with no conflicts or confusion. In short order I had an iMac, a Windows PC, an Apple TV and an iPhone all connected and working.

This review rounds out our complete coverage of Cisco's revamped Linksys E series of wireless routers. The E2500 is one step below the E3200 , with 10/100 ports vs. Gigabit and no USB port for drive sharing. You could easily confuse the E2500 and E3200 since both enclosures are virtually the same.

Linksys E2500 Multiple User N600 WiFi Router
Though far from perfect, the Linksys E2500's ease of use, nice design, and reasonable price make it a very good router for a small home or apartment.
Pros:
- The affordable true-dual-band Linksys E2500 Advanced Dual-Band N router is easy to use
- thanks to the included Cisco Connect software and a well-organized Web interface.
Cons:
- The Linksys E2500's range is short and its 2.4GHz-band performance is subpar
- The included Cisco Connect utility provides limited access to the router's features, doesn't work in sync with the Web interface, and requires a live Internet connection to work

A great giga-bit ethernet wireless router
I did not know anything about wireless routers, gigabit etherner, nor virtual networks. With this product, I did not have to. Installation was quick for basic functions. Had to dig a little to get to the detail of how to configure the router for USB storage, but got it all to work except for Quicken...
Pros:
- really easy to set up
- offers guest access
- usb 2 port available for network store or printer
Cons:
- setup instructions not clear
- unable to get quicken backup to recognize storage

Cisco Linksys E2500 Advanced Dual-Band Wireless-N Router
The Cisco Linksys E2500 ($99.99, direct) Advanced Dual-Band Wireless-N Router is part of the new lineup of E-Series routers. On paper, the E2500, which replaces Cisco's E2000 ($119, 3 stars), is a step up from the Editor's Choice winning E1200 ($60, 4.5 stars) as the E2500 offers dual-band...
Pros:
- Sustains good signal strength at distance
- 2.4 GHz performance much better than that of the E2000
- Easy setup and management
Cons:
- No Gigabit Ethernet
- Performance at 5 GHz band not as robust as that of the E2000, last year's model
- No bridge or AP mode
