TechBargains Review - Linksys E2500 Advanced Dual-Band N Router
You're not still rocking a wireless router from three years ago, are you? Or even worse, a wired-only router? If you answered "Yes" to either of these questions, it's time to think about upgrading to take advantage of today's technologies, not the least of which is Wireless-N connectivity.
Pros:
- Streamlined Exterior
- Ease of Use
- Dual-Band
- Price
Cons:
- Performance
- No Gigabit Ethernet
- Sparse Feature Set

GREAT PRODUCT!
EXTREMELY EASY SETUP-comes with an installation CD and in about 3 steps you are up and running (I am not a techy person and was able to do it on my own with no trouble). APPEARANCE-small, light and sleek. SECURE-during installation it allows you to edit network name and password.
Pros:
- Easy To Set Up
- Fast
- Highly Compatible
- Secure
- Small

Good coverage for 2-story with basement
I'm rating this 4.5 actually. Good coverage in 2400 sq ft home from top floor to basement. Blasing speed for HD streaming in top floor and main level. Coverage in basement Wii U was good but sporatic and excellent for son's Kobo (he could stream YouTube instantaniously and no breakups).

" This product suited our needs. "
Since I am not a computer tecky, I probably will not provide the review in technical terms. It has a good range, and we are pleased with the performance. It was extremely easy to install and connect.

poor range
I upgraded to this router after I had compatibility issues between my wrt54gs2 router and my wireless security cameras. The compatibility issues were solved but this router has very poor range so I'm having to spend another $80 or so on a range extender.

Great router
I use this router to connect to my PC, Xbox, and iPhone at the same time. I live in a small apartment so I cant comment on how it would work in a larger home with multiple floors
Pros:
- Easy To Set Up
- Fast
- Highly Compatible
- Secure

Wi Fi issues
Pinging the gateway with around a 5-10ms response time, 2 feet from the router.
Pros:
- I'm not sure
- It works...
Cons:
- Consistant connection loss
- dropped packets
- sluggish response from router over Wi-Fi

A typically high quality product from Linksys (Cisco Systems).
I replaced an older Linksys Wireless-B router with this newer model and once installed it has worked very well. The only reason I do not give this product a 5-star rating is that the installation instructions leave a bit to be desired.

Wireless N does not work with iPhone
iPhone 4S only connects in wireless G. I reconfigured the router many different ways, updated firmware, and this router will not connect an iPhone in Wireless N. I wasted my money on this.

decent router - crappy parental controls
If parental controls are important to you - DONT select this router. Otherwise I've had good luck with it. I do consulting work at home and frequently have a dozen devices online including multiple hi-end streaming IP cameras and its been fine.
Pros:
- easy setup via either their setup app or a web page (which is what I use
- you can set up reservations
Cons:
- parental controls are very limited and what it does have is very buggy
- not quite useless but close
