Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM

Another great lens from Canon. I have loved this lens very much when using in tripod, unfortunately cannot use those focal lengths without IS.
Pros:
  • great IQ and build
  • lightweight for its category
Cons:
  • lack of IS with those focal lengths
  • but you can get the IS version if this is a concern

Typical quality for an L series and amazing for this price

Very sharp light weight lens. Wide open bokeh is not bad colours are outstanding. As I mostly use this lens on a Monopod I.S is not a concern but would be nice for hand held. Focus and zoom rings operate very smoothly.

Canon EF 70-200mm f4 IS USM L

You want a medium telephoto lens for your Canon dSLR, something with a constant aperture, solidly built with pro quality, yet light enough to carry on adventure to some faraway part of the world. You have looked at the f2.8 models but didn't think you could afford them or the Sherpa to carry them.
Pros:
  • Professional grade build quality, including dust and moisture sealing
  • four stops of image stabilization system
  • relatively lightweight
Cons:
  • The tripod collar is optional
  • relatively expensive

Exceptional piece of equipment!

I have been using DLSRs for quite some time and moved to full-frame camera a while ago. Having used many lenses from every stable including Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina & Samyang and almost every focal length (right from 10mm to 400 mm), I must say this lens is easily one of the best...
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Durable
  • Fast / accurate auto-focus
  • Lightweight
  • Strong Construction

The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM is just about the cheapest lens in its class, but are its images top quality or bargain basement? Not only is the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM the least expensive 70-200mm lens on the market, it's also the cheapest glass in Canon's professional L-series range, making it...
