Brother HL-L2300D Review

The Brother HL-L2300D monochrome laser printer ($119.99) is small enough to sit on your desk without taking up a lot of space and is limited to connecting via USB cable. The combination defines it as a personal printer for any size office. Despite the small form, however, it delivers a level of paper handling that would be suitable for sharing. Add in its fast speed and more-than-acceptable output quality, and it's an easy pick as our Editors' Choice low-cost, personal monochrome laser printer. When it comes to paper handling, the HL-L2300D ($96.88 at Amazon) delivers a point-for-point match with the Samsung Xpress M2625D ($470.00 at Amazon) , another top pick. Both models offer a 250-sheet tray, a one-sheet manual feed, and a built-in duplexer (for two-sided printing). This should easily be enough for even heavy-duty use by personal printer standards. Almost as important as the paper handling is the small size. The HL-L2300D weighs just 15 pounds, making it easy for one pers...

The Brother HL-L2300D's small size and excellent paper handling—with a 250-sheet tray, manual feed, and duplexer—should be at the top of your list for a personal monochrome laser printer.

Unimpressed

This has nothing to do with

Printer was on sale

It doesn't come with the USB AB cable needed to plug into my computer; That's not cool, I priced them out at local stores and the cheapest one I could find was a $15 10-foot cable, so I ordered one from Newegg instead for $3.50; It was a 15 foot cable, too

Just bought my second one!

This is a rock solid printer. I have gone thru two Epson color ink jet printers in the time I had this. For printing drafts, etc, BW only, this cannot be beat. The toner lasts forever. Since this is not WIFI, I bought a second for a different room. Could not pass up this great deal from B&H.

Excellent little printer with low running costs

Used as a student printer to churn out a lot of articles yet take up not too much space. Very low running costs combined with crisp print quality. The duplex well worth having as well.
