Fresh is best
The key to making the very best espresso is to grind fresh beans just before you brew your coffee. To minimise the time between grinding and extraction, the BES870 has an in-built conical burr grinder, so you can grind directly into the portafilter. You can adjust the grind size and dose until it meets your preferred taste.

Gently does it
The pre-infusion function will gradually increase the pressure of the water to gently expand grinds. This leads to a more even extraction and a fuller taste.

The digital temperature control (PID) delivers water at precisely the right temperature, a key factor in making the perfect brew. Meanwhile, the purge functions automatically adjust water temperatures after steam for an espresso temperature that is just right.

Very happy with this machine, no complaints
Great tasting coffee - just like at a good cafe. Great looking machine. Easy to use. Only reason i'm not giving 5 stars on Build Quality is it's too early to say - online reviews say they can break after a few years (that said, all coffee machines seem to also). So far perfect.

I had two super automatic espresso machines and they don't last long for the money. I also didn't like they way the machines textured the milk. After much research I settled on this machine and never looked back. I makes the best expresso for the price!
Espresso Lovers Dream
Had my eye on this machine for quite some time. I've owned it now for just over a year. Well worth the investment! It has paid for itself three times over by now with the time and money I save not having to stop for coffee on the way to work. Easy to use! Love this machine!

We had been looking for an espresso machine for about a year. We bought this one on impulse because it was on sale and half the price of other set ups. It is compact with the grinder built in. It pulls better shots than any place near where I live.

This machine makes exceptional coffee and is very easy to clean and maintain. I cant wait to get out of bed in the mornings and fire up this bad boy. My wife and I bought the same model second hand and over a couple of weeks it developed a boiler leak and shorted out the power.
Affordable with great features
I bought this a few weeks ago and although it took a bit of time to get the coffee to the standard I wanted it, it was worth the effort. Went through quite a few beans getting the grind and extraction right.

No Change when all is Good.
I have just bought my second Barista Express. Why? you may ask. My old machine of nearly 4 years of great service started playing up, and the thought of being without it whilst being serviced was torturous.
