If you're in the market for an ultraportable laptop you'll no doubt already have eyed up the 12in MacBook – but you may well have been unsure whether the low-power processor will meet your needs, or indeed unsure about switching to macOS. The ZenBook 3 makes a very interesting alternative.
Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA
The ZenBook 3 has redefined the Ultrabook, with the lightest and thinnest Intel Core i-powered laptop on the planet. However, as you might expect, the compromises that are made when you shrink a laptop down are notable, but certainly not deal-breakers.- Great design
- Incredibly lightweight
- Excellent performance
- Volatile battery life
- Not enough ports
- Core i5 model is better value for most
Amazing power in such a tiny package.
I bought this netbook for my younger brother for Christmas (He's 36 years old). He's had it for a little over a month now so I think it's safe to put in my review on his behalf. He mentions almost daily how fast it is, how good the touchpad is, how nice it is that it literally fits in an envelope...

- Full HD Screen
- Good Specifications
- Good Speed
- Great Backlit Keyboard
- Gets Slightly Warm
- Lack of ports.
- Webcam is poor

Asus Zenbook 3 UX390UAK (UX390UA series) review – is this THE ultraportable of this generation?
The Zenbook 3 UX390UA is rather unique among ultraportables, as a sleek and ultra-compact laptop with Core U hardware, fast storage, lots of RAM and plenty of other solid traits.- slim, compact and light

- solid specs and overall good performance
- doesn't get as hot as I was expecting
- potent speakers
- solid performing wireless
- the battery life is decent, considering the actual size of the battery
- the fan is active all the time
- the display is too dim for the premium niche and glossy, despite not being a touchscreen
- limited IO, but an adapter is included
- pricey
Asus ZenBook 3 review: A proper Apple MacBook substitute
Standing toe to toe with Apple's MacBook Air products, the Asus ZenBook lineup has often been accused of plagiarism, but they're not so much a direct copy. Instead, I prefer to think of them as taking inspiration from their svelte Apple-based alternatives, a tradition the Asus ZenBook 3 continues.- Superbly thin
- Lavish build quality
- Excellent Kaby Lake performance
- Disappointing battery life
- Only one USB Type-C port
ASUS ZenBook 3 (UX390UA- 12.5-Inch Ultraportable Review
The ASUS ZenBook 3 (UX390UA-DH51-GR) is one of the lightest and lightest ultraportable we've seen in the market. Still, it manages to deliver class-leading performance and longer battery life thanks to its Intel "Kaby Lake" Core i5 processor.- One of the thinnest laptops on the market
- Excellent performance and battery life
- Strong speakers
- Fingerprint reader
Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA-GS041T Notebook Review
Everything comes at a price. If you want super thin, you will have to waive ports – but not performance! After the throttling issues of the HP Spectre 13, the world's thinnest notebook, Asus can pull it off: Performance like a big system, but as thin as a fanless tablet.- very light and thin
- compact dimensions
- one-day runtime
- sturdy but not completely torsion-resistant
- performance without throttling
- firm key stroke
- ClickPad enables fast workflow
- clear microphone recordings
- reliable login via fingerprint
- balanced sound (medium & high tones
- Mini-dock in the...
- not many ports
- unusable webcam
- shallow key travel
- limited feedback
- weak ClickPad feedback
- speakers without bass
Review: Asus Zenbook 3 UX390 is a super-thin delight
The Zenbook 3 is the culmination of several years of development of the highly successful Zenbook series, and we have to say that it's a piece of art. When you pick this Ultrabook up, you'll be simply amazed at how thin and light Asus has managed to create a laptop – it actually feels lighter than a...
