Works perfectly on my Windows 10 Pro, Core i7 8700K computer

Went to ASUS website and downloaded Windows 10 drivers for the ASUS Xonar-DX sound card. Drivers work perfectly - no problems whatsoever. My system: Core i7-8700K cpu ASRock Z370 Extreme4 motherboard Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4 CL15 RAM MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X video card Quick Start...

Not sure yet, as have not connected it up ...

Not sure yet, as have not connected it up, however, awful packing, the item arrived in its own product box, no packing whatsoever, just a delivery address label stuck to it. Very shoddy regarding, WHATS INCLUDED IN THE BOX.

Hooked this up to my original speakers and I could instantly tell the difference. The mids and highs sounded much clearer and I was able to hear instruments that I couldn't hear before. Even made me go out and buy a new set of speakers to maximize my investment.

big improvement over onboard sound

software is a bit clunky; will likely make you buy a new set of speakers; a bit pricey

Worth the splurge

Great card. Could use a slightly better headphone amp but that's my only gripe. Spending another $50-$75 would net you that but spending more if your not editing or producing would be kind of silly.

I bought this for a build while I was in the process of setting my credit on fire, I still don't regret this purchase; The price tier that this sound card is on is perfect for people who want a nice step above motherboard audio and don't mind spending $50 > $100.

There aren't many cons with this audio card except for a few sort ofs: Keep in mind; this card does not have digital optical!!! Don't buy it without reading and trash/complain about this card here because you weren't paying attention!

WARNING: Not Compatible with Windows 7

In late 2013 Microsoft changed the sound driver architecture in Windows 7, and as of 2014 ASUS still hasn't fixed the drivers for ANY of their Xonar cards. This causes the card to output sound at 8KHz with *massive* compression artifacts, no matter what the settings. It sounds like a bad Skype call.

Amazing hardware

Bad drivers cripple the card

ASUS Xonar DSX Sound Card - 7.1 PCI Express

Great soundcard - massive improvement over an on-board sound engine. Both the physical and the software installation are fast and easy. The software allows for a significant amount of customization and effect settings.

At some point, the onboard sound just make music drag and not enjoyable. This card makes no drag, but produces silk smooth sound. However, the driver on disk crashed my computer at installation. The downloaded version from Asus website installed smoothly.

Outstanding sound!

No, It's not a Xonar STX! but I really like this sound card! I listen to music, Play video games and watch ripped blue ray movies (legitimately of course) Improves the sound quality in general.

Excellent Hardware - TERRIBLE software

I had owned previously the D1 (PCI variant) of the DX for over 2 years, and it ran without any faults. Got the DX in, and it was easy to install, and put in the front panel audio plug. The PCI-E DX needs power though, which it comes with an included adapter.

Fantastic sound card with a few impracticalities

This is one of the best sound cards out there today. The sound quality is top notch, and the low profile form factor means its really easy to put this...

Great sound quality; low profile; good software

no automatic headphone handover; quiet clicking when you change the output
