ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AC2900 Review
One of the hardest things to do in any technology design is to provide a solution which is just as suitable for those who don't fully understand what they are doing and wish to do the bare minimum as it is to those who wish to micromanage every single element, make every decision, and customise it...
Meets all of my families needs. From working at home to gaming and wifi Smart TV's
This router is great. I have not had any connection issues or speed issues. Everything I connect works. The range is impressive. There is not a dead spot in my 2 story house including the basement. I am happy with this purchase. I researched this quite a bit and I am glad I choose this one.

Excellent router pretty strong signal for our 2 storey house. We have UFB and this router is able to transfer 100Mbps/20Mbps easy. Set up was basic. There are some other features which i haven't fully utilised yet. Overall I highly recommend this router.
Asus RT-AC86U Gaming Router Review: Strong Performance for Big Houses
Asus's RT-AC86U router may not be the top performer at short range but it more than makes up for that where it counts: at long distances. Its combination of a built-in stand, security software and gaming enhancements put it in a class by itself with an excellent mix of value and performance.- Excellent long-distance performance
- Gaming and security optimizations
- Excellent customizability
- Built-in stand
- Mediocre throughput close to clients
- Need to set up router with connected browser
- Slightly expensive
ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AC2900 Gaming Router review
ASUS offers a proper router with the GT-AC2900, however as the results show the performance definitely is less than the flagship models out there (and that is the basis of comparison). So while it is a good router, it is a bit more normal and mainstream for perf.
ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AC2900 Wireless Router Review
Networking for games is about more than just raw throughput. You also want the lowest latency possible, as well as the ability to prioritise gaming traffic over other applications that make use of the network.- Excellent 802.11ac performance at up to 10m
- Excellent USB 3.0 storage performance
- Massive range of configuration options in management interface
- Great game optimisation and prioritisation features
- Fun customisable RGB lighting
- Reasonable price
- Disappointing 802.11n performance
- 802.11ac performance drops off fast beyond 10m
Asus RT-AC86U review
Asus' forte, in most aspects of technology, is generally doing things to the extreme. Routers are no different: the terrifying 8-antenna ROG Rapture GT-AC5300, for example, is a gaming router jammed to the gills with radios that looks less like a bit of wireless tech and more like the plinth for a...- Extensive firmware
- Solid Wi-Fi speed and coverage
- Well priced
- Complex firmware
- Divisive looks
Forget google, ubiquiti and orbi. Asus is where its at!
once they have the kinks worked out on aiMesh, this will set the standard those other systems can't hope to compete with. the 86U has the extended range 5ghz network (FCC changes 2014) which means its already extremely powerful and fast, but the fact you can turn older Asus routers into access...
