Just the right amount of curve

In the store I wasn't fully sold on a curved monitor, but I went with it against my mental protests. It didn't take long to get used to the curve. I'm now at the point where straight monitors look odd. I mostly use it for development (tons of room!), but gaming also looks great.

Good monitor, poor panel

It seems to be a bit of a lottery as to how much light bleed your panel has. Mine was unacceptable to me and Asus confirmed (via a picture) that it was faulty. It was returned and refunded without too much fuss, but I didn't reorder, as I didn't want to risk the same thing happening again.

Asus PG348Q: Second Coming Of The Monitor Messiah?

OK, this is a little embarrassing. Last July I hailed, albeit with the usual journalistic qualifications, the Asus MG279Q as the Messiah of Monitors. Now I'm doing it again. And it's another ruddy Asus monitor. But there's nothing to be done. I cannot unsee what has been seen.

Review: ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q Monitor

All and all I really enjoyed using this piece of tech from the Republic of Gamers line from ASUS. It made watching movies more enjoyable, and I even plugged in my Xbox One and spent hours just gaming. It felt like a huge improvement over my 42'' Samsung LED TV.

NVIDIA G-Sync; Good Size and Resolution; Beautiful; Easy To Operate

Pain To Construct; High Price Considering Competitors; Weak Sound

Asus RoG Swift PG348Q

The Asus RoG Swift PG348Q is the company's interpretation of the finest gaming monitor in early 2016. The 3,440x1,440 resolution, G-Sync technology and 100Hz refresh rate combine to offer silky gaming visuals in a super-widescreen, curved form factor.

Gorgeous aesthetics; Excellent colour calibration; Premium gaming experience; Very good in 2D; Best-in-class OSD

Luminance uniformity not perfect

Asus ROG Swift PG348Q

The PG348Q laid out a solid set of benchmark results at factory settings. Its 285-nit brightness level is ample, and the black level of 0.27 is reasonable too. Those figures combine for a contrast ratio of 1,055:1 – another good result that ensures punchy colours at the top end of the scale and...

Great image quality; Outlandish; versatile design; Nvidia G-Sync; Huge size and resolution

Expensive; Cheaper rivals have the edge on quality; Awkward to build and set up

Asus ROG Swift PG348Q

The PG348Q is another great addition to the already very popular and established ROG Swift gaming monitor series. Asus have done a nice job with the design and build of this screen and it feels like a premium high-end monitor worthy of the Republic of Gamers brand.

UPDATED REVIEW: 2/11/16 I received my new ROG Swift on 1/29/16. The return and refund from BuyVPC was fast and easy, and in fact I purchased the replacement from them as well. This time everything worked as it should, no dead or stuck pixels, this monitor is amazing!
