This works great! After wasting my money on a cheap LG USB drive that could not even play music CDs, this is a big relief. Wish I had bought it first.

It does what it says and compliments my iMac perfectly. Usual high Apple quality, just a bit expensive for what it is! (Though much cheaper at JL!!) My only quibble is the length of the inbuilt cable, it's quite short. There's no ability to change the cable so when it breaks, that's it.

So hard to find a laptop with a disc drive do this was the perfect addition.

This worked well for our purposes, which was to load music onto a Mac mini. It seems a little slow, but there was no setup required, which was nice.

Great product but needs extarnal options.

I purchased this optical drive to use with a new iMac 5K 27-inch Retina (2017) machine. While there were less expensive third party USB optical drives available for the Mac, I elected to purchase the Apple product to eliminate any possible compatibility issues.

I got it and looked just like it said it would but I plugged it in and it wouldn't even turn on! I really don't recommend buying this from here.

High quality item from Apple. silent smooth operation. Top class packaging and quick service. The complete apple Mac package. Computer, disc drive, keyboard with trackpad and mouse. Look and work superb.

I purchased this as a replacement for one just like it that was 6 years old. The previous one stopped working with DVD's & would eject them quickly, though CD's would still engage. I used another grand, as interim, but this one just works smoother.

Unpacked it this afternoon and plugged it in to a USB on my iMac and it didn't recognise the Superdrive at all. Nor would it accept a CD or DVD. After spending ages on the phone with a Very Advisor and then an Apple Advisor, I am returning it forthwith and receiving a refund. Not impressed!
