Acer Iconia A100 review: An uninspiring 7in Honeycomb tablet
Apple has adopted a one-size fits all approach with its iPad 2 , but there seems to be a demand for smaller, compact tablets. Acer has responded with the Iconia A100, a smaller and lighter version its 10.1in Iconia A500 Android tablet .- Reasonably good performance
- HDMI-out port
- Charges quickly
- Truly abysmal battery life
- Poor quality display
- Thick and heavy considering its size

Acer Iconia Tab A100 Review
The Acer Iconia Tab A100 isn't the first 7-inch tablet by any stretch, but it is the first to run Google's Android Honeycomb software. This sub one-pound gadget is also easy on the wallet.
Acer Iconia Tab A100 (Wi-Fi)
The sweetest Honeycomb tablet we've seen so far packs modern Android goodness into a pocket-sized package, with a new OS version going far to solve Android tablets' biggest problem to date: the lack of decent tablet-sepcific apps.- Works well with many Android apps
- Great multimedia features
- Short battery life
- Bloatware
- A bit chintzy-looking
Acer Iconia Tab A100 Reinvents 7-Inch Tablets
With its feature-laden yet practical design, and compact size, the A100 has the goods to deliver a modest-sized alternative to the 10-inch class tablets. Android 3.2 appears to have some rough spots, though, and app compatibility may be an issue until app makers and Google can issue the appropriate firmware updates. We’ve seen 7-inch tablets before, but the category gets a new spin with the Acer Iconia Tab A100. Acer manages to pack in a slew of ports and slots in a well-designed, compact model. The A100 also happens to be the first 7-inch tablet with Android 3.2, and the first from a major brand to hit a sub-$350 price — thanks partly to starting with just 8GB of storage.- Compact size makes it conducive to carry and hold
- First 7-inch tablet with Android 3.2 Honeycomb
- Plenty of ports
- Android 3.2 appears to have some kinks to work out
- Soft-touch home button too easy to activate
Acer Iconia Tab A100 – the smaller brother of the A500 is finally here
The Acer Iconia Tab A100 is a great choice for a cheap tablet that looks great and can do all the work you need it to do. Ii is already available online and on a couple of major networks throughout the world, so you should take a look if you're in the market for a new tablet.
This isn't the perfect tablet, then, not by a long chalk. And with average screen quality, below par battery life and a poor camera, you'd think we'd be ready to stick the boot in. But the Acer A100 is actually a rather likeable device.
