Acer Iconia A100
While we're glad to see a 7-inch alternative in the Android Honeycomb landscape, we can only wish that the A100 was better. Although it gave us solid performance and sports a decent range of connectivity, the screen is a shocker, and its size and weight are more substantial than we'd like.
Pros:
- Solid performance
- HDMI-out
- Excellent web browsing
Cons:
- Poor screen with awful off-axis viewing
- Thicker and heavier than we'd like it to be

Acer Iconia A100
Acer was the first of its computer counterparts on the scene with an Android Honeycomb tablet, and it's first again to follow up, with a 7-inch alternative. The A100 is smaller and lighter than the A500 , but is it small enough and light enough to make for a true alternative to a 10-inch tab?
Pros:
- Solid performance
- HDMI-out
- Excellent web browsing
Cons:
- Poor screen with awful off-axis viewing
- Thicker and heavier than we'd like it to be

Acer Iconia Tab A100 Reinvents 7-Inch Tablets
With its feature-laden yet practical design, and compact size, the A100 has the goods to deliver a modest-sized alternative to the 10-inch class tablets. Android 3.2 appears to have some rough spots, though, and app compatibility may be an issue until app makers and Google can issue the appropriate firmware updates. We’ve seen 7-inch tablets before, but the category gets a new spin with the Acer Iconia Tab A100. Acer manages to pack in a slew of ports and slots in a well-designed, compact model. The A100 also happens to be the first 7-inch tablet with Android 3.2, and the first from a major brand to hit a sub-$350 price — thanks partly to starting with just 8GB of storage.
Pros:
- Compact size makes it conducive to carry and hold
- First 7-inch tablet with Android 3.2 Honeycomb
- Plenty of ports
Cons:
- Android 3.2 appears to have some kinks to work out
- Soft-touch home button too easy to activate

Acer Iconia Tab A100 review
Life is all about choices and trade-offs. With the Acer Iconia Tab A100, the main compromise is in size. This 417g tablet, the first to run the Android 3.2 operating system, is too big to be a smartphone and too small – at a 7-inch screen size – to watch movies on.

Acer Iconia A100 Review
Acer has performed a neat trick by bring a seven-inch tablet to the table - or indeed to the jacket pockets of consumers. Acer also brought us one of the first devices to run on Android Honeycomb (the Acer Iconia A500 tablet), so how does its smaller sibling stand up to its bigger brother?
Pros:
- Speedy dual-core chip and Android Honeycomb preloaded
Cons:
- If you want more than 7 inches from your tablet you'll need to look to Apple or Samsung for a solution

Acer Iconia Tab A100 review
Acer is the latest manufacturer to roll out a 7in tablet, and will face the likes of RIM, HTC and Samsung in a bid to attract buyers to the portable form factor.
