Acer Iconia Tablet A100 Review

We had a go on the Acer's Iconia A500 tablet last year which as you can image is a fairly large device due the 10.1" screen. So we were expecting the A100 to be naturally smaller due to its 7" display, but we were not expecting it to be as small as it was when we first laid our eyes on it!

Acer Iconia Tab A100 review

Whatever business you're in, everything is mobile now. That's become especially true in recent years for the world's leading PC and laptop manufacturers, who've slowly cottoned on to the fact that they can't let the likes of Apple hoover up all of the tablet and phone market.

Great device

I bought the Acer A100 from a well known shopping channel. I had been looking around for ages and wanted a 10 inch Android tablet and was considering the new Asus Transformer Prime.

Excellent Tablet

Battery life seems good. I have not had any wifi problems as others have reported. I have a Uverse router. I paid $189 on black Friday online from another big box Co. Would have bought it on Newegg if the price was closer.
Pros:
  • Excellent screen resolution, powerful, full market access, HDMI out, handles streaming netflix video with ease, games are smooth no hesitation
  • Very little bloat ware
  • Bluetooth connects with ease to desk top and LG phone
  • HDMI out connects instantly to my Sharp Aquas LCD with good quality.
Cons:
  • None so far

As the first 7-inch tablet running Android 3.2, the A100 is fast and inexpensive, though buyers will have to settle for short endurance and a chintzy design.
Pros:
  • First 7-inch tablet running Android 3.2
  • Fast performance
  • Relatively inexpensive
Cons:
  • Very short battery life
  • Polarizing design
  • Oversensitive accelerometer

Acer Iconia A100

Steve Jobs doesn't like 7-inch tablets. Hardly surprising, given that Apple only has one tablet, and it's not 7-inches. But Pocket-lint likes all tablets, especially ones that give the people what they want: choice. The Iconia A100 is Acer's most recent entry into the Honeycomb tablet market.
Pros:
  • Sturdy
  • runs Honeycomb
Cons:
  • Not all that cheap
  • odd screen
  • DLNA not good at all
