Western Digital brought useful and innovative new features and improvements within the new VelociRaptor - Generation. Capacity, Cache and Data-desnity were increased which results in higher Data-rates.

First, I hope you haven't read through this review and deduced that the WD1000DHTZ drive as a failure…as that is surely not the case. To be fair, we weren't comparing apples to apples in this review as no HDD will ever directly compete with an SSD.

The 1TB WD VelociRaptor WD1000DHTZ is the first hard drive I have reviewed in a long time and that's because it's among only a few on the market that can be considered an alternative to standard solid-state drives (SSDs).
