WD Scorpio Blue 1TB 2.5″ WD10JPVT Drive Review

Western Digital – where have you been dude??? (I am running out of opening lines here). WD Scorpio Blue 1TB 2.5″ WD10JPVT – a 2.5″ form factor with a 9.5mm thickness Scorpio Blue drive. They sent a drive for evaluation and this looks to be interesting.

Western Digital WD10EZEX: A 1TB SATA 3.0 HDD For $60

For those in the market for an affordable, large-capacity hard drive, the Western Digital WD10EZEX offers 1TB of storage for about $60 USD. If you are curious how this low-cost Serial ATA 3.0 hard drive performs against other SATA HDDs and SSDs under Ubuntu Linux, here's a set of new disk benchmarks...

Clicking right out of the box

I open the box this was contained in, plugged it into my motherboard sata, and plugged in the power cable from the psu. When I power on my motherboard, I can hear the drive quietly rev up, then after a couple of seconds, it starts clicking every 1/2 second, and doesnt stop.

1tb with 7200 speed!

This is a speedy drive. WD consistently makes great products. Needed this for a mac and it installed just fine for the customer.

1TB is a lot of space and 7200 RPM is pretty fast; WD is a good brand, Dont forget the 64MB cache

Great bang for the Buck.

Needed to pad my storage on my gaming rig. Needed to do a quick Google to find out about the Windows 10 disk management. 5 minutes later and I had my drive up and running.

Easy installation (with some Google help; Great price; especially when on sale

Solid drive...

I've had these drives for ages, both green and blue. The blue seems to be as quick as the black which is more expensive. Use the green drives as slave/backup drives as they go to sleep and save power, but take a few seconds to spin up when needed.

Not that good as i thought !!

It is not the best among 1 Tb hard disks. It makes some noise while transferring data and has a poor Windows Experience index rating of 5.9. And the transfer speed is sometime came to 14.5,Mbps while transferring files from one drive to other in the same system.

Fast Connectivity

Poor Performance; Slow Connection

Good value for money and good performance, but died within a month.

I bought this HDD after my previous Seagate one had suddenly failed and had to be replaced. The WD Blue was easy to fit and had great performance, but I was one of the unlucky ones to experience a problem with bad sectors just over a month after purchasing it.

Hard Drive

Staples Tech picked for me as I had no clue. Several different Techs worked on my computer over several days to bring it back to life. Thank you, electronic doctors! My computer feels just fine and works perfectly!
