Western Digital Scorpio Black (WD7500BPKT) 750GB Notebook drive

This is the second 750GB Notebook drive review I am going put up, this one is from Western Digital. Black series from Western Digital, as always pitched as a High Performance drives. Would you like to have one-or do you even need one? Here's what's up!

Going on about 5 years with this drive now. It has served me well as an external backup disk. I use it everyday. Reliable.

Western Digital Scorpio Black 750GB review

Western Digital's Scorpio Black 750GB notebook drive is another in the recent spurt of high-capacity laptop HDDs such as the Toshiba MK7559GSXP and Toshiba MK1059GSM . But if you want to get a faster hard drive for your notebook, which route do you go down?

Western Digital Scorpio Black 750GB 2.5″ Hard Drive Review

It should go without saying that Solid State Drives grab most of the headlines but when push comes to shove, most people turn to the good old fashioned hard disk for the vast majority of their storage needs.

Great hard drive.

Installed it in my 2009 MacBook Pro 13.3". Very fast, has little affect on battery life I find, which I was worried about (with it being 7200 RPM instead of the stock 5400 RPM Seagate that these MacBook Pros come with). Installation was easy, just find yourself an online tutorial.

Western Digital Scorpio Black 750GB review

It's now possible to squeeze as much as a terabyte into any regular laptop, thanks to the latest 1TB notebook drives from Western Digital that use only two platters inside. This means the drive's thickness can be kept at the magic 9.5mm.
