A canvas for your imagination

When I first played Tearaway back in 2013, I adamantly argued that Media Molecule's delightful and imaginative platformer wouldn't be possible without the PlayStation Vita. The Vita's medley of distinct inputs-from the touch screen to the front- and rear-facing cameras-allowed for genuine...

Creative and effective use of the DualShock 4; Stunning art style; Cute and charming world; Creatively solving puzzles is rewarding

Requires extra hardware to get the most out of the game; The impact of the ending is hindered by pacing issues

Tearaway Unfolded Review

I'm going to let you in on a secret here, folks: Tearaway is the best game Media Molecule has made, and is the best game Sony has published on the Vita. But MM isn't the type of dev to drop a lazy por

A touching; personal story; Loads of new content; Gorgeous audio/visuals

Few camera issues; Motion controls might upset some

Tearaway Unfolded

From the same minds that created LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway takes players on a platforming adventure through a world crafted entirely of paper. Since many players missed the original Vita version of the game, Sony has given it a second chance with Tearaway Unfolded on the PS4.

Tearaway Unfolded

Tearaway Unfolded begins with a barrage of meta commentary, as two bickering narrators lament the paucity of content out there, flipping through television channels and other forms of media before deciding to cede control to "the You" and to create something new.

Tearaway Unfolded Review

Tearaway Unfolded takes the enjoyable platformer from the PS Vita and makes it even better on the PS4. It might lose a little bit of its luster in the transition, mostly due to the two year timespan in between, but fans of Media Molecule's gaming style will find a lot to love here.

Tearaway Unfolded

Tearaway Unfolded on PS4 really blurs the boundaries of our world and the virtual world with some modern platforming mechanics

Tearaway Unfolded is a lovely-looking game. As you might expect from the makers of LittleBigPlanet, it's a visually textural treat. Only rather than having the more fabric-based look and feel of LBP, this time out everything in this game from its characters to the scenery and backdrops looks like...

A features showcase for the Vita!

This game is extremely well done and one of the many must haves for the system. It uses every one of the Vita's features, such as rear TouchPad, cameras, and gyro/accelerometer in a non-gimmicky way that just flows with the rest of the gameplay.

Tearaway Unfolded Review - Treat your DualShock 4

The Vita's plethora of control inputs were a perfect fit for Tearaway's ambitious ideas. Thankfully, the DualShock 4 performs admirably too, with the trackpad bearing much of the workload, which I'll tell you about soon enough.

So many uses for the DualShock 4; Thoughtful world design; Family-friendly fun that anyone can enjoy

Fights can be a little clumsy with accidental throwing; Trackpad isn't great for drawing; Too cute

Tearaway Unfolded review – custom?controller

A noble effort to recreate one of the PS Vita's best games on a home console, but the end result never feels quite as elegant or organic as the original.

Incredible presentation and wonderfully realised graphics; Clever use of the DualShock 4 and PlayStation app to create different inputs and customisation options

Many of the mechanics, particularly the combat, are fairly superficial; Almost none of the control gimmicks work quite as well as the original and the pacing is considerably worse
