For just over $200 this is a must have lens in any photographer's kit. The optics are excellent for such a cheap lens and the macro function is a nice bonus.

The optical design of the lens is made of 14 elements in 10 groups including 2 SLD ( Special Low Dispersion ) elements. It´s a fairly compact lens with a min. size of 77x122mm and a weight of 550g.

The sigma lense is exactly how I expected it, which is great. The zoom is very good, and it comes with a lens hood which I wasn't expecting, so an added bonus. The product I got was clean, well packaged and devoid of any nicks or scratches.

It's a good lens from the price, but not terribly sharp upon closer inspection. This is one of Sigma's older pre-Global Vision designs. However, it's a good starter telephoto zoom lens for a student or beginning photographer.

Only if I could give minus stars . I was so excited as I was leaving the country the next day of my lens delivery. And I see that the lens doesn't fit my camera. When I have specifically ordered for sony. I'm so disappointed.

The Sigma 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens is compact,to easily fit in the camera bag. The feel of the Sigma lens was designed with the hand in mind. I was surprised to know the price, being very affordable. I needed to use a lens that would take my eye to 300mm when the boat takes us whale watching.

I'm a bit of a novice, got the D90,love the camera, dud. Lot of searching and came across this lense,tried it out today, from a novice point of view,it has done the job ell,used manual focus at first,then went auto.I'm very pleased with the results,,oh,and was a great price too,it feels substantial...

Bought this vhit little worries, because is cheap compare to other lenses, but it is great lens and work absolutely perfect. So it is good item for such a good price
