I recommend this to just about everyone. Have had the keyboard for a few years now and 0 issues, despite constant use. Only downside is I hate swapping to a non-mechanical keyboard when at work.

It's a mechanical keyboard with green backlighting. Very much a personal opinion, but this keyboard has Cherry MX Blue switches, which are the loudest possible switch for a mechanical keyboard. I type over 80 WPM, possibly upwards of 100 on a mechanical board.

was quite nice until the huge key bounce problems showed up. It lasted about a year under normal conditions.

The hardware is all as it should be, but a few cosmetic design flaws put this keyboard with potential down on the typing and gaming food chain.

I upgraded from a 2013 Blackwidow Ultimate because I couldn't handle how freaking loud it was. Turns out I like non-clicky switches. I really love typing on this keyboard. It feels so satisfying.

Razer is known for its top-of-the-line gaming products, with the tagline, 'For Gamers. By Gamers.' Compared to earlier offerings from Razer, the BlackWidow Ultimate makes us believe all the gamers at Razer went on holiday while they drew up the plans for this one.

Even by Razer's own standards, the BlackWidow Ultimate misses several tricks. There's no choice of backlight colour, unlike the Anansi. Plus, while the Cherry keys have a clean action, the coating feels uncomfortable, and the clunk-click of the keys is very loud.

I enjoy the craftmanship of this keyboard. being on the computer late night and having those lights makes it a device I wish I had for a long time before. For now I'm a proud owner.

At $125, the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate is a competitively priced mechanical gaming keyboard in its range. We just wish Razer had done more to set this "Ultimate" edition apart from Razer's more affordable standard BlackWidow.
