Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Review

Razer, long known for its high-end gaming mice, has had sort of a slow start when it comes to gaming keyboards. Its offerings haven't been bad, but the company hasn't had a must-have product yet. The BlackWidow is Razer's first.

Great key mechanisms; strong build; just the right number of features

Attracts fingerprints; noisy; doesn't offer many more features than $50-cheaper basic model

Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition

The BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth ($139 direct) is the latest edition in Razer's BlackWidow mechanical keyboard line. Razer decided to try and quiet the "clacking" noise of the other edition by using "Cherry MX Brown" key switches over the lighter "Cherry MX Blue," which, in my opinion, has made for a...

Less clacking noise; Matte finish staves off fingerprint and smudge marks; Downloadable software has easy to use UI; Macro editing available

Keys aren't as light as previous model

Review: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Keyboard

Short version: This new mechanical keyboard from Razer is clicky and attractive, but some layout and design choices irk me, and this thing ain't cheap.

Solid to type on; Clicky sound for those of you who like that kind of thing; Ports and media keys work no problem

F-key clusters too close together; Key labels can be confusing; Macro lovers may want more

Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition Keyboard

The keyboard connects to your computer with two USB connections on the end of the multiuse cable that is a little over six feet and braided. One USB connection is for the keyboard and backlighting while the other is for a USB connection on the side of the keyboard which is a handy pass-through USB...

If you haven't got the original BlackWidow Ultimate and don't need a louder tactile feedback from the keys, then the Stealth Edition is a gem and the one you should go for. It is quieter, though I somewhat miss the clicky-clacky sound when I typed with the original BlackWidow Ultimate.

+ Great look; great design; + Sturdy; + Mechanical; + Individually backlit keys with 5 settings; + Dedicated macro keys + gaming mode to disable Windows key; + Multimedia controls; + Matte finish; better than the glossy (in my opinion; + Quieter with great tactile feedback; still

The Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition comes in black with a sleeker matte finish for the body compared to the glossy one in the original BlackWidow Ultimate; I like the new material as it's not a finger print magnet, non-sticky, and feels better overall, The keyboard comes with 5 independent...

RAZER BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition - Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

By using the well known Cherry MX Brown switches, the feeling is similar to the offering from DIATEC that was reviewed some time ago; these switches are good for both typing activities and gaming, by having a light and tactile feel and come with a 45g force at the point of actuation, compared to the

Razer BlackWidow Ultimate review

Priced at £74, the Razer Black Widow Ultimate is, according to us, asking for too much moolah. In fact, if you do not want any of the fancy features like the backlighting, the macro keys or the USB port then you can go ahead and buy the standard Black Widow keyboard which is priced much lower at...

Razer's BlackWidow and BlackWidow Ultimate keyboards

After spending some quality time with standard and Ultimate versions of the Razer BlackWidow, I can't help but feel that my tried-and-true Das Keyboard Professional is a higher-quality product.
