mode button icons rubbed off after two uses

wanted a compact to add to my camera collection and heard some good things about this My main problem with this camera after having it only a month was that the icons on the mode dial rubbed off. It also has trouble focusing when the zoom is extended

Easy To Use; Small / Compact

Poor Image Quality

Not worth the money

Did not produce the kind of quality I expected from my dSLR. Based on the review, I expected this to work similarly to a mirrorless but it doesn't quite go that far.

All in all, the ZS50 is a fun alternative to using your phone. It's portable, packs a whopping 30x zoom, and the controls are balanced enough to be comfortable for new users and enthusiasts alike.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ70 Review

Trying to choose between the TZ60 and TZ70? Read the What Digital Camera Panasonic Lumix TZ70 vs Panasonic Lumix TZ60 comparison Having pretty much invented the compact travel zoom camera category with the first DMC-TZ1 over eight years ago now, Panasonic has a legacy to maintain with its latest...

12.1-million pixel sensor with larger pixels for improved lowlight performance; Higher resolution EVF; much improved over previous model; 5-axis image stabilisation; Extremely versatile Leica lens with an equivalent focal length of 24-720mm; Customisable physical control ring around lens

EVF is quite small in size; may not be suitable for some; No touchscreen control; Mode dial could be firmer; No GPS

A versatile camera with a massive zoom in a handy size that can be taken anywhere

For the 2015 version of its Travel Zoom camera, the Lumix DMC-TZ70, Panasonic has done something a bit different. Rather than boosting the megapixel count of the sensor, it has actually reduced it, but made the individual pixels bigger.

Pocket-sized camera with a 30x optical zoom; Built-in EVF; Capable auto mode

Chromatic abberation can be noticeable; EVF sensor too sensitive; Function buttons could offer more shortcut choices

Amazing feature set

I've had this camera for a few months now and if I don't soon comment on my impressions they will be obsolete and irrelevant. So, here are my pluses and minuses: + If the mode dial is not in a detent, the camera warns you. + The wrist strap can be attached to either side of the camera.

So very pleased.

I bought this camera for 2 reasons first for it's viewer so much better with this when in bright sunlight and second for the size of the zoom on such a nice weight of a compact camera.

Great camera!

I love the look and feel of the camera and that the ring at the front can be used for different functions. It is easy to use and very similar in operation to the other Panasonic cameras I have and still do own e.g DMC-FZ72. The only problem for me is that the viewfinder is very small.

Small Viewfinder

It's smaller than I expected (I have arthritis so this may be a problem) but it looks capable of doing incredible things -- so many more functions than my old camera. This will definitely require reading the entire instruction book cover to cover. Looking forward to wonderful pictures.
