Microsoft Kinect brings promises of responsive, engaging, and cutting edge experiences, and one of the shining successes amid the plethora of launch titles for the motion-based tech is Rare's answer to Nintendo's Wii Sports , the predictably titled Kinect Sports .
Motion controls are natural and responsive; Wide variety of sports; Provides an enjoyable workout
Weird avatar clipping/animations; Recognition issues with hand motions; Needs more throwing-based sports
I think it's a law enshrined in the gaming constitution (right under the section that calls for a Madden NFL game every year until the end of time), that every motion controller must have a sports game at launch. So here comes Kinect Sports, Microsoft's kick at the bucket.
Another sports game; Why isn't there a curling game yet; Wii-quality graphics; A great selection of music to keep you in the sporty mood; Most movements in the game are true(ish) to life; Easy to jump in/jump out

Rare's first game for Kinect may look like a simple Wii Sports clone from a far. But is that all there is to it? Lee finds out...
Great party game; Great for multiplayer gaming
Limited fun for the solo player
One of the descriptions (or complaints) lobbed at the Kinect is that it is simply duplicating what made the Wii so successful, albeit without controllers.
Kinect technology works well; Great for families/parties; Very accessible
A few control quirks; Not much fun solo; Sports can get repetitive
Kinect Sports may be slightly derivative, but it's an infectiously fun game in its own right, says Nick Cowen.
It's no secret that motion-gaming and sports titles go hand in hand. Such is the ability to replicate the required moves it's a no-brainer that Microsoft should launch Kinect with a sports compendium title in the same vein as what Nintendo achieved with Wii-Sports/Wii-Sports Resort and Sony with...
Sports-themed minigame collections are practically a requisite for motion-controller launch lineups at this point. The Wii launched with Wii Sports , The PlayStation Move launched with Sports Champions, and now Kinect for the Xbox 360 is launching with Kinect Sports.
Good variety of sporting events; Intuitive and mostly responsive controls; Multiplayer works well both locally and online
Does almost nothing to cater to solo players; You need to exaggerate some of your movements for them to register
Featuring six individual and team-based sports ranging from athletics to bowling, Kinect Sports is a predictable launch title for Microsoft's new motion-sensing peripheral. The singleplayer experience is a little flat but with one or more friends, the game proves entertaining.
Hugely enjoyable party mode; high-energy full-body sports; replays
Occasional motion capture issues; dull single player; large required room for play
Kinect Sports is a decent demonstration of what the Kinect unit can do, but it's worthwhile only if you have enough friends and family who are into party video games.
