Pros: 1. It looks good. Cons: 1. No IP reservation (supposed to be standard feature nowadays) 2. The whole thing hangs a few times a week 3. Wireless connection drops a few times a day for no reason at all. Overall a piece of junk. Sending this back to the shop.

Linksys WAG160N

Like D-Link, Linksys has improved the Mac side of its products since we last reviewed one of its routers. In fact, it's completely redesigned both the hardware and software for its new WAG160N Wireless-N ADSL 2+ Gateway.

Attractive design; competitive price; four Ethernet ports included; Mac set-up software supplied

Slightly complicated set-up procedure a bit too much technical jargon for our liking

Linksys WAG160N review

With its latest range of routers, the Linksys design department appears to have thrown away the rule book.

Thanks For Reading.

The chances are that if you're reading this, you've either using and know what a Modem Router is, or you've at least heard about them. However for the sake of this review and to avoid any confusion, basically a Modem Router is a piece of technology that allows you to connect to the Internet, network...

Linksys WAG160N Review

The Linksys WAG160N is another 802.11n compliant ADSL2+ modem router, which provides the ability of connecting to the internet through a telephone cable (RJ-11) and simultaneously link to your wireless LAN network to share files and resources.

Ultra-portable and lightweight design; Advanced security features; Highly customisable and user-friendly

Expensive; No external antenna

"Linksys's Lightning fast wireless router"

The Linksys WAG160N N300 is an ADSL2+ wireless modem router, meaning it has a a modem built in. It is for use with BT Internet connections rather than for use with a Cable broadband connection (i.e. Virgin) although a Cable version is also available.

Fast speeds; Reliable; Stylish

I had wireless problems; Gets a bit warm; no restart router option in config

Linksys WAG160N review

With its latest range of routers, the Linksys design department appears to have thrown away the rule book. The Linksys WAG160N and its sister devices now sport a curvy, sleek, lounge-friendly appearance, quite unlike their boxy predecessors.

Linksys WAG160N

For the most part, this all-in-one router is great. It has a built-in ADSL2+ modem and an 802.11 draft-n wireless access point, it's easy to set up and use, and it also looks good. But its wireless performance was a little underwhelming in our tests, as the router delivered slightly slower results...

Quick and easy-to-use Web interface; QoS; good range of filtering options; LELA is useful

Slightly slow wireless speed

Linksys WAG160N Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway

Design The WAG160N shares Linksys' new design philosophy (also seen on the WRT310N ), which is to make smaller, more discrete Wireless-N devices without the multiple external antennae and a sleek design that wouldn't look out of place on the deck of the Starship Enterprise.

Decent throughput; Stylish design; LELA for Windows

No gigabit ethernet; Wireless N refuses to live up to the hype -- again
