For the most part, this all-in-one router is great. It has a built-in ADSL2+ modem and an 802.11 draft-n wireless access point, it's easy to set up and use, and it also looks good. But its wireless performance was a little underwhelming in our tests, as the router delivered slightly slower results...

Pros: 1. It looks good. Cons: 1. No IP reservation (supposed to be standard feature nowadays) 2. The whole thing hangs a few times a week 3. Wireless connection drops a few times a day for no reason at all. Overall a piece of junk. Sending this back to the shop.

As Linksys is owned by Cisco, the company that builds much of the infrastructure behind the internet, you'd expect a little of that know-how to trickle down to its consumer products.

Linksys's streamlined WAG160N-UK looks considerably better than most routers. It's easy to set up using the CD installation wizard, prompting us to enter the details of our ADSL account and then to secure our network. Warnings appear if you try to continue with an unsecured wireless network.

The chances are that if you're reading this, you've either using and know what a Modem Router is, or you've at least heard about them. Reliability

Previous Linksys routers weren't the most aesthetically pleasing, but this new model is something you'll want to have out on display.

The Linksys WAG160N N300 is an ADSL2+ wireless modem router, meaning it has a a modem built in. It is for use with BT Internet connections rather than for use with a Cable broadband connection (i.e. Virgin) although a Cable version is also available.
