iPhone SE is a 4-inch phone unveiled by Apple on the 21st of March 2016. It's the first 4-inch produced by Apple since the launch of iPhone 5S in 2013.

The target group is users that prefer a compact and non-bulky phone with top features. Apple wants to ensure that existing iPhone 5S users don't switch to another brand when upgrading their phones. Hence, an upgraded 4-inch phone makes a lot of sense from this perspective.

The look of iPhone SE is almost identical to that of iPhone 5S in terms of form and look-and-feel. However, the four colours are the same as for the iPhone 6s.

The specs are impressive. The A9 processor powering the iPhone SE is 70% faster than the older A8 processor. The graphics processor (GPU) is 90% faster. In fact, Apple claims that graphics performance has been boosted three times compared to iPhone 5S.

The camera matches the performance of iPhone 6s and 6s plus. It's capable of recording in 4K at a 30 fps rate. The resolution of the camera is 12 MP. The Retina flash enables the front camera to take bright selfie shots.

The battery life has been vastly improved over iPhone 5S. Communication is also faster with network supported up til 433 Mbps. Wifi calling is also supported.

The iPhone SE is available with two storage options: 16GB and 64GB.

Perfect, compact mobile phone.

I purchased this due to its size, as I wanted something small and compact when doing sports. It has all the features you could wish for. The apps work pretty fast and the camera is good enough for most occasions. I also have to mention this comes with 128gb storage space, which is very good.

The SE model for under $300 is the older model and refurbished. This is not a fair comparison for price with the new model for $750

Review: Apple iPhone SE

Some things are just better bigger. Televisions, hotel rooms, border walls (supposedly), paychecks, wine glasses, hands, and one or two other things I won't mention that come up very quickly when you Google "bigger is better." Oh, and phones.
Pros:
  • You can't beat the hand-feel of a smaller phone
  • The SE's battery life is shockingly great
  • There's plenty of power, plenty of camera inside this body
Cons:
  • Some website and app designs are leaving small screens behind
  • The SE is no movie screen, and it's sure not VR friendly
  • Your selfies will look worse, and your touches will be less 3D

iPhone SE Review

Don't write it off just because it's smaller and looks like the iPhone 5, but be prepared to admit you may have outgrown the dated 4″ screen since Apple introduced larger displays.

Apple iPhone SE

A very good budget phone by Google ...really impressed by its performance and camera quality..don't let the front facing megapixel fool you , it can easily defeat all the 8 megapixel camera of Android flagships..(well not the s7 though)but still at this price ..
Pros:
  • Performance
  • Camera
  • Build quality
Cons:
  • 1st gen fingerprint sensor
  • No 3D touch
  • May be to small for some people

  • A13 Bionic processor is extremely powerful
  • Camera improvements over the iPhone SE (2016) and iPhone 8 are significant
  • $599 price tag is great
Cons:
  • Looks exactly like the iPhone 8
  • No Night mode
  • Comparable Android smartphones are much better in some ways

Apple iPhone SE

Apple's iPhone SE isn't initially impressive. As a hodgepodge of other iPhones without any new technology, it's hard to get too excited about it. Our thoughts leading up to the announcement were generally that this new iPhone would be a great iPhone for late upgraders.
Pros:
  • A smaller, lighter iPhone
  • Reasonably priced
  • Users with smaller hands should find it easy to use
  • Familiar 5s design is still an attractive winner
  • Upgraded internals (A9, M9, 2GB of RAM) allow phone to leap past the iPhone 5s and compete with the iPhone 6/6 Plus - it's faster than you might...
Cons:
  • Smaller phone means smaller display
  • Not introducing any new technology
  • No 128GB option, and we wouldn't recommend the base 16GB option to anyone at this point
  • No 3D Touch
  • Outdated FaceTime camera
  • Onscreen keyboard harder to use for those with larger hands
  • Slower Touch ID.

Apple iPhone SE

It's a sign of the times when a smartphone coming in at over £350 for the basic model is described as cheap. The iPhone SE isn't cheap, but it is the best value iPhone we've ever seen.
Pros:
  • Small screen with powerful spec
  • Strong camera
  • Good battery life
Cons:
  • Contrast could be better
  • Audio lacks in dynamics and subtlety

Apple iPhone SE review: Small but not?weak

Apple iPhone SE launches in India on April 8 at a price of Rs 39,000. Here's our review for this 4-inch iPhone.
Pros:
  • The best feature of this phone has to be its size
  • There are lot of people who struggle with large phones, and find no viable alternative given that smaller phones are now becoming really rare.
