The iPhone SE is the most powerful 4.7-inch iPhone ever. Let's check out that power, and all the other features.

Small but perfectly formed

The iPhone SE is made for maximum portability and hand-feel comfort, thanks to its small but compact design. The Retina HD display might not be the biggest but its vibrancy and sharpness is huge!

A bionic but compact performer

The A13 Bionic is the fastest chip in a smartphone and gives amazing performance in apps, games and photography. If you thought you were enjoying seamless performance in your current phone, just wait until you've checked out this iPhone!

An advanced camera system

The A13 chip takes the cameras to awesome new heights. The set up includes 12-megapixel Wide camera with Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting, Depth Control, next-generation Smart HDR and 4K video.

Superior selfies

On the other side of the phone is a 7-megapixel front camera with Portrait mode, Portrait Lighting and Depth Control

Smart but tough

This might be a genius performer but it is also very robust. For example, check out the water and dust resistance; 1 metre for up to 30 minutes, and an IP67 rating.

A bingeworthy battery

Watch up to 13 hours of video on a single charge. And when it is time to charge up, set it down on a wireless charger or connect to an 18W fast?charge adapter to go up to 50% in 30 minutes.

A newer model iPhone SE 3rd Gen 5G 64GB was released in March 2022.

Apple iPhone SE 2020 (64GB, Black) - Excellent review

When I reviewed the iPhone 8 , I questioned the value that phone offered, given that it was not that far off in price from Apple's new flagship at the time, the iPhone X . But the iPhone SE is a superior handset to the iPhone 8, and it costs half as much as the 8 did when I reviewed it in 2017.
Pros:
  • This is a highly competitive price for an iPhone, The fastest performance available in a smartphone today at less than half the cost of top-of-the-line iOS and Android flagships, iOS is an effective, secure, and robust mobile operating system that is a great choice for most users, The inclusion of...
Cons:
  • The iPhone SE trails behind other iPhones in terms of battery life, The design is looking a bit dated, There's no headphone adapter included in the box, Mediocre low-light camera performance, Folks expecting the return of the hyper-compact, 4-inch iPhone SE will be disappointed

Apple iPhone SE 2020 (64GB, Black) - Excellent review

Anyone who calls the iPhone SE a spare parts store is not wrong. Dressed in the iPhone 8 garb, looking through the glasses of the iPhone XR and doing its work with the heart of the iPhone 11, Apple has rummaged deep in its toolbox and created a powerful iPhone mix that combines not the best, but the...
Pros:
  • Powerful processor, Home Button, Bokeh effects for both cameras, Low price
Cons:
  • Aged LCD display, Average Portrait Mode, Poor audio, No expandable storage

Apple iPhone SE 2020 (64GB, Black) - Excellent review

The iPhone SE is back, though it's still just called the iPhone SE – there's no model number or "2.0" suffix here. Four years after the first "Special Edition" made its debut, Apple has once again shaken up the market with a cut-price iPhone, and we've been testing it out to see exactly where it…

Apple iPhone SE 2020 (64GB, Black) - Excellent review

It’s worth keeping in mind that the 2020 iPhone SE is not an iPhone 11. There is indeed a lot in common on the inside, but it’s not the same. But it doesn’t need to be, either. The new iPhone is a look back at something familiar from the good old days of the iPhone, and it’s one that will work quite...
Pros:
  • Feels great in the hands, A "normal" sized phone, The chip and performance of the iPhone 11, Pretty solid camera, Supports Apple Pay, Water resistant, Wireless charging, TrueTone screen, Great price
Cons:
  • Camera isn't as strong as iPhone 11 at night, Battery life isn't great

Apple's iPhone SE Proves You Don’t Need a Fancy Phone

Apple's new low-cost handset proves you can own a great phone without spending a small fortune.
Pros:
  • A brand-new iPhone, with Apple’s fastest smartphone chip, for a price that starts at $400. Camera isn’t comparable to flagship phone cameras, but is still extremely capable. Supports fast LTE and Wi-Fi 6. The Home button makes a comeback! Wireless charging is a nice touch.
Cons:
  • Relatively short battery life. Camera underperforms in certain settings. Weak speakers. Not 5G-ready. Not quite as durable as other newer iPhones. After months of using a larger phone, a 4.7-inch display feels small.

Apple iPhone SE 2020 (64GB, Black) - Excellent review

Value may be subjective, but it’s hard to argue that the new iPhone SE doesn’t shake up what’s reasonable to expect from a smartphone in 2020. Apple’s most affordable phone is recycling refined to art, a blend of old and new with a barely-believable $400 price tag.
Pros:
  • Aggressive pricing, Latest processor and Apple's track-record of updating iOS, Premium metal & glass construction
Cons:
  • Single camera is solid but lacks features like Night Mode, Display is small compared to other phones, Budget for a better charger
