Apple iPhone SE 256GB Black MXVT2X/A review
The 2020 iPhone SE packs in a top-spec processor and flagship features at a bargain price, but dated design and bad battery hold it backApple iPhone SE 256GB Black MXVT2X/A review
The iPhone SE is a really smart phone (no pun intended) as it doesn’t have all the flashy specs and lacks the pizzaz of Android phones at this price but is still a better phone than competition. Why? Simply because no other phone will give you this level of performance in this price segment.Apple iPhone SE 256GB (PRODUCT)RED MXVV2X/A review
In playback, the iPhone SE (2020) delivers a good overall performance, with precise attack, few artifacts, and well-balanced midrange and treble frequencies. Curiously enough, as with the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro Max, the stereo channels are inverted when audio is played back through the Music app in...- Good dynamics performance with precise attack
- Few artifacts overall
- Well-balanced midrange and treble
- Good maximum and minimum volume performance
- Excellent timbre performance
- Artifacts almost absent
- even at high SPL
- Good envelope and
- signal-to-noise ratio
- in every app
- Consistency in each,...
- Inverted stereo in landscape orientation (Music app)
- Tonal balance lacks bass response
- Slight lack of low- and high-end extension
- Pumping can occur on vocal content
- and a slow automatic gain control is perceivable at high SPL

Image 1 of 15 UPDATE : Ever since Apple unveiled the smaller, cheaper iPhone SE all the way back in March 2016, the company has brought out a whole host of new – and admittedly much more expensive – iPhones.

This 4-inch smartphone may be smaller than most, but don't underestimate it....

Apple's newest iPhone, the iPhone SE, isn't the new hotness and it's not meant to be.
Apple iPhone SE 256GB Black MXVT2X/A review
The iPhone SE is back, though it's still just called the iPhone SE – there's no model number or "2.0" suffix here. Four years after the first "Special Edition" made its debut, Apple has once again shaken up the market with a cut-price iPhone, and we've been testing it out to see exactly where it…
Apple iPhone SE 256GB Black MXVT2X/A review
When I reviewed the iPhone 8 , I questioned the value that phone offered, given that it was not that far off in price from Apple's new flagship at the time, the iPhone X . But the iPhone SE is a superior handset to the iPhone 8, and it costs half as much as the 8 did when I reviewed it in 2017.- This is a highly competitive price for an iPhone
- The fastest performance available in a smartphone today at less than half the cost of top-of-the-line iOS and Android flagships
- iOS is an effective
- secure
- and robust mobile operating system that is a great choice for most users
- The inclusion of...
- The iPhone SE trails behind other iPhones in terms of battery life
- The design is looking a bit dated
- There's no headphone adapter included in the box
- Mediocre low-light camera performance
- Folks expecting the return of the hyper-compact
- 4-inch iPhone SE will be disappointed
Apple iPhone SE 256GB Black MXVT2X/A review
We're the Android Police, and Google's mobile operating system is our raison d'être, our bread and butter, the most essential and integral part of our site's very existence. Still, it doesn't exist in isolation.- Price $400 for these specs is pretty great
- Camera Good (but not great), especially given the price
- Performance Very, very quick — flagship fast
- Build quality This doesn't feel like a $400 phone
- IP rating Not a common feature in mid-range devices (though it should be).
- Software We're an Android site, what did you expect? More objectively speaking, long-time Android users won't feel at home, notifications are a bad time, and iOS is still very restrictive
- Battery life Varies substantially depending on use, but it can be pretty bad if you're hard on the phone.
Apple iPhone SE 256GB Black MXVT2X/A review
The iPhone SE (2020) comes in at a price tag that in Apple world has to count as a bargain; to be honest, if an Android offered this performance for £419/$399 we'd be calling it superb value for money.
