The iPhone X might be grabbing most of the headlines right now, but the iPhone 8 shouldn't be ignored. Released to the market within weeks of each other, it's the X's all-screen display and Face ID that have captured attention, but the features of the iPhone 8, available before the X, make it worth exploring in its own right.
Same processor, same software: The iPhone X boasts an A11 Bionic processor, and iOS 11 software. Pretty impressive, as you'd expect from this much talked-about iPhone release. But, just as impressively, the iPhone 8 also offers you that A11 Bionic processor, and iOS11 software. So, if that sort of high-level performance is what you demand from your iPhone, you can get it right now in the 8.

The iPhone 8 is the perfect update to the iPhone 7. Battery life is better, as is the camera, and, unlike the iPhone 8 Plus, it's significantly cheaper than the upcoming iPhone X. It's difficult to get excited about, however.

The iPhone 8 is now available without a contract directly from Apple for £479. The phone has undergone many price-cuts since its original release in 2017 and it’s currently at its lowest price. You might be able to pick it up cheaper through other sellers or on contract.

Went away from apple to samsung... but now I’m back. Great phone but debating if I should’ve got the 8plus for size although still hard to justify price ... after having the smasung 8plus... it was quite the size difference. Still happy with Apples easy useability.

The iPhone 8 has a new glass design offering wireless charging. It's faster than ever, thanks to the new A11 Bionic chip, and now comes with 64GB of memory as standard. iOS 11 also brings some cool new features including augmented reality.
If you own an iPhone 7, or maybe even an iPhone 6S, then the jump to the iPhone 8 is not a big one. Sure, the performance is a bit better and there is wireless charging, but that's about it. The jumps in the remaining features are not very big.
