Apple iPhone 5S

The iPhone 5s is, quite truly, nothing like a typical "s" cycle upgrade. The new iPhone gets the processor upgrade, as well as a dedicated motion processor. The camera not only has a lot more features, but is a marked improvement over the fairly competent iPhone 5, which it succeeds.

Classy design; Consistently good performance; Future proof power package; Much improved camera; Touch ID feels right at home

Costs a lot of money

iPhone 5S review: the same, yet different

The iPhone 5S looks and feels a bit dated compared to other flagship devices on the market: we now have 1080p displays as standard, generous screen sizes that make viewing video and gaming more immersive, and even device with pen-input that take productivity to a whole new level.

+ Hardware is still fantastic: thin; light; and very high quality; + Excellent performance; + Still one of the best cameras; + Camera software enhancements–burst shot and slow-motion–are fun; + Speaker; now better; is still one of the loudest; + All-day battery life; + Touch ID scanner works very...

You can buy an iPhone 5S on all major carriers in the US and most major carriers around the world; And of course, you can buy, direct from Apple, ; The on-contract price starts at $199 for 16GB of storage, then goes to $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 64GB.

iPhone 5S

By smartphone standards the iPhone 5S is outright ancient. First released in 2013, with the rumoured approach of Apple's fabled iPhone 6S on the horizon, the iPhone 5S is close to becoming two phone generations old.

Touch ID works perfectly; Excellent performance; Great all-round camera; Very light and comfortable in one hand

Battery life could be better; 4-inch screen too small for some; Extra storage cost

Apple iPhone 5s

The iPhone 5s is the latest flagship device to lead the iPhone dynasty. With a redesigned processor, fingerprint scanner, improved camera, a bounty of new camera features and iOS 7, the phone is receiving rave reviews from virtually every reviewer around.

Speedy performance; Beautiful display; Great camera; Flexible LTE support; Decent battery life; Solid design

Lack of NFC support; Mid-sized screen; Lack of memory expansion; High off-contract price

Apple's best yet: iPhone 5S reviewed

The new iPhone is here, and while it doesn't come with a brand new number, it does manage to sneak in a few new features that aim to make it the best iPhone yet.

Still the same lovely design as before; Performs very well; Fingerprint scanner is great for unlocking the phone and buying apps; 4G connection is very fast; Feels great in the hand

No NFC; No 802.11ac; True Tone flash is versatile; but doesn't dampen flash colour as much you expect

Apple iPhone 5s review

Another year, another iPhone. Apple's mid-cycle "S" update has brought us the iPhone 5s. It retains an identical, physical design to the iPhone 5 but introduces a useful biometric fingerprint sensor, has a faster, 64-bit A7 processor and takes better photos than its predecessor, particularly in low...

Touch ID is genuinely useful; Improved low light camera performance; Excellent performance

Average battery life; Same sized 4in screen; Touch ID needs more support

Apple iPhone 5s: Serious upgrade

Apple's pattern of iteration isn't smooth when it comes to the iPhone . It bumps along: a new case design one year, more subtle advancements the next. The iPhone 5s is, as the name implies, a phone that doesn't look much different from last year's iPhone 5.

Touch ID fingerprint sensor; camera flash adjusts to ambient light temperature; big speed improvement over iPhone 5

Screen still feels small next to other high-end phones

I've always been a big fanboy of Android, and never wanted to hear or know anything of the Apple products. I saw it as expensive exaggerated products. I first started with the Samsung Galaxy S2, S3, S4, Sony Xperia Z1. I was finally just bored of Android even with the new lollipop.
