Apple iPhone 5c review: Plastic body and colour not reasons enough to pick it

Review: Apple iPhone 5c

Some people will look at the iPhone 5c and just see an iPhone 5 with a colorful plastic case and a price drop. It's not a device that's going to wow your friends like the iPhone 5s, with its fingerprint scanner and a new camera.
Pros:
  • Solid construction
  • Plastic will weather most of your "uh oh" moments
  • Higher capacity battery
  • Better LTE support
  • Updated front-facing camera for better duck-face selfies
Cons:
  • Year-old technology
  • For 0 more, the iPhone 5s brings the magic
  • Back of the phone feels a little too slick
  • Your favorite iPhone 5 case will not fit

iPhone 5C

iPhone 5C is colorful and not cheap. Indeed it has lower specs versus the iPhone 5S but it will have a very different look and feel and price to appeal to a wider range of people. This is still top end engineering and with the latest operating system and is even better than the current iPhone 5.
Pros:
  • Sleek and colorful design with improved specs and iOS 7 and a vey good size
Cons:
  • Still has a high cost

The announcement of Apple iPhone 5C along with iPhone 5S marked the departure of Apple's usual strategy of launching a single iPhone every year. This time, Apple took a bold step of releasing its cheaper version of iPhone along with the much awaited iPhone 5S worldwide. But at the price of Rs.
Pros:
  • Colorful design
  • Smooth operating system
  • Good battery life
  • Fast processing
  • Improved Camera U
Cons:
  • Still expensive
  • Looks too similar to iPhone 5
  • Still small screen
  • Heavier than iPhone 5
  • No finger print scanner like iPhone 5S

iPhone 5c

The iPhone 5c doesn't offer much improvement over the previous generation iPhone. However, the 5c's reduced price point is the draw here. At $99 under contract, the iPhone 5c is the cheapest newly released offering from Apple to date.
Pros:
  • Easy to type on
  • Very portable
  • Easy to read on
  • Easy to navigate
  • Good speaker quality
Cons:
  • Subpar battery life
  • Subpar camera quality
  • Subpar performance - same hardware as the iPhone 5

Cannot be compared to Android

I bought it based on the reviews by people around me. My friends who tried both Android and iPhone swear by it. But I'm very disappointed. Biggest problem is that it dies or froze constantly, which never happen with my Google phone.
Pros:
  • Voice recognition technology
  • apple specific apps (like Face Time
Cons:
  • Dies constantly

Apple iPhone 5c review: A colourful iPhone 5 with better battery life

iPhones have always been aspirational, high-end products, for which people have been prepared to pay a hefty price in order to join the (not particularly exclusive) club. With Apple's 2013 handset launches that approach has changed slightly: the flagship iPhone 5s occupies the traditional...

  • Excellent 4-inch Retina display
  • Solid build quality
  • Available in a range of colours
  • Good battery life
Cons:
  • Relatively expensive for a mid-range smartphone
