Apple iPad mini review
An outstanding compact tablet, beautifully designed and with great battery life. Apple has done a great job with the iPad mini, although it we do feel that the pricing is not as competitive as it could be.
iPad Mini
The iPad Mini is one of the few new product lines that Apple has unveiled this year, yet it's really just an incredibly shrunken-down redesign of the iPad 2. It's a perfect size and weight, and works exactly as advertised: it's a truly portable iPad with excellent battery life and nearly no...- The iPad Mini's ultra-thin and light design is far more intimate than the larger iPad
- Offers a full iPad experience
- The screen's dimensions elegantly display larger-format magazines and apps
- Costs too much comparatively
- The A5 processor isn't as robust as the one in the fourth-gen iPad and iPhone 5
- Typing on the smaller screen is not quite as comfy
iPad mini
Certainly the most desirable 7-inch tablet on the market, the iPad mini's £269 starting price is considerably higher than the competition but for that outlay you get a device that, although not specs superior, is a far more enticing option than much of what is already on the market.- Stunning brushed metal design
- Strong battery life
- Simply
- intuitive UI
- Low-res screen
- More expensive than competition
- No boxed headphones or dock adaptor
Review: Apple iPad Mini
The war in which everyone seems to be winners is the one we seem to have had with Apple and everyone else in the last couple of decades. It started with Mac vs PC, continued with iPhone vs Android, and now that battle has extended to the tablet market.- Good price
- good size
- all the advantages of a tablet
- great video and audio
- all the apps
- all the features of I devices
- Like all Apples
- not massively configurable
- a new proprietary cable to worry about
Apple iPad mini Wi-Fi review
I've heard many complaints about the iPad mini. I've heard people moan about the dated processor and the low resolution, 4:3 screen. I've even heard a few complain about the lack of GPS in the Wi-Fi version.- Smaller
- lighter & more portable
- Beautifully designed and built
- Huge selection of apps
- Seamless integration with Apple devices
- Ageing processor
- Relatively low resolution screen
The first time I saw the iPad mini at an Apple Store, I decided to give it a pass. I already had a third-generation iPad with Retina Display and buying a smaller iPad did not make sense. Thankfully, a friend asked me to pick one for him and let me play around with it till I returned to India.
Apple iPad mini review: One for the road
Wait, did hell just freeze over? Maybe a couple of degrees cooler? Rumors of a mini version of the iPad had been laughed at, dodged and denied - not necessarily in that order and often all at once. But here it is - the iPad mini is finally a reality.- Compact body: 200 x 134.7 x 7.2 mm, 7.9" LED-backlit IPS LCD touchscreen, 768 x 1024 pixels
- scratch-resistant, oleophobic coating, Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, carrier-dependent hotspot support, Optional 2G/3G GSM, CDMA, LTE connectivity (data only, separate models, Optional GPS...
- More expensive than 7" Android tablets
- only $70 cheaper than iPad 2
- No Retina display
- 162ppi only
- Same chipset as iPad 2
- now two generations old
- iTunes still required for most of the content uploads
- Reflective screen struggles outdoors
- No standard USB port
- Lightning accessories still rare...
Apple iPad Mini review
The iPad mini is a fantastic tablet and our favourite iPad, though falls short in some key areas.- Premium look and feel Incredibly thin and light The iOS app selection is huge Great battery life
- Sub-par screen sharpness Mediocre camera 4:3 aspect ration not suited to movies Too wide
Apple iPad Mini review
The iPad Mini is a decent tablet that is almost affordable by Apple's standards, making it a good choice for anyone already comitted to the Apple ecosystem.- Decent build quality
- good battery life
- iOS 6
- Screen isn't as good as other Apple devices
- A5 processor doesn't offer top end performance
Apple iPad Mini Review
If you're spoiled like us and are already used to high-resolution screens on your new gadgets, the iPad mini may be a let down, initially. But if you disarm your screen snobbery and relax, you'll find an incredibly comfortable, well-sized, well-built tablet at a more affordable $330 price.- Great screen size
- Comfortable and light
- 300,000 apps
- Good rear camera
- No Retina screen
- Lightning connector adapter is expensive
- No microSD
- More expensive than Android competitors
