The iPad mini is a fantastic tablet and our favourite iPad, though falls short in some key areas.
Pros:
- Premium look and feel Incredibly thin and light The iOS app selection is huge Great battery life

iPad Mini hands-on review: Apple's latest makes its debut
This makes it even better as an e-reader than the larger iPad models, since you can hold the iPad mini in one hand for much longer before feeling fatigued. The wider screen (holding it in portrait orientation) gives you more room for content.

It wasn't exactly the best kept secret. For weeks the rumour mills churned out tidbit after tidbit with supposed details of a smaller, more compact iPad. Speculation swirled and finally on October 23rd Apple unveiled the mythical iPad Mini, just as the rumours suggested.
