The war in which everyone seems to be winners is the one we seem to have had with Apple and everyone else in the last couple of decades. It started with Mac vs PC, continued with iPhone vs Android, and now that battle has extended to the tablet market.

Good price; good size; all the advantages of a tablet; great video and audio; all the apps; all the features of I devices

Like all Apples; not massively configurable; a new proprietary cable to worry about

An outstanding compact tablet, beautifully designed and with great battery life. Apple has done a great job with the iPad mini, although it we do feel that the pricing is not as competitive as it could be.

If there's one tablet that's tailor made for built-in 4G, it's the iPad mini. This tablet is lighter and thinner than most 7-inch budget slates, yet packs a larger 7.9-inch screen for enjoying all of your apps, not to mention a full web experience, on the go.

Verdict Consumers have come to expect excellence from Apple products. While the iPad Mini excels as a physical example of design, its technology is now severely dated and it brings little new to the table.

Two months down the line and the iPad mini has been elevated as my go-to tablet of choice, which is surprising for someone who relies on the larger iPad for so many things.

Jobs dismissed 7-inch tabs as tweeners. We differ If Steve Jobs was still around we wonder if the iPhone would have ever gone beyond the 3.5-inch screen and the iPad downsized from its original beefy 9.7-inch form factor.

The iPad Mini is exactly what its name suggests it is – a smaller iPad. With a good build, decent screen and specs, and a solid ecosystem behind it, there's no doubt that it's a compelling device. Price will, undoubtedly, be a factor for many.

So far the best in the category. Sturdy built, large collection of apps, fluid touch response & good browsing speed. It's more I need and expect from a tablet. Apple has not led me down for a descent investment.

Apple has never been known to abide by industry trends; instead, they have always been known to be trend setters more than followers. The iPhone, iPad and iPod touch are three very good examples of products that have sparked innovation in their respective segment.

Touted as the most desirable tablet PC in the 7 inch segment, iPad Mini comes as a good bid for those who always wanted to have an Apple iPad at a decent price range. The device is more than a simple piece of eye candy and comes with features that are sure to attract the buyers.
