At less than 500 grams and just 7.5 millimetres thin, this 2018 iPad redefines portability. It's a mobile all-in-one computing solution.

Durable and beautiful

This iPad is designed to go anywhere you go, but just because it is rugged doesn’t mean it’s not beautiful. The silver, space grey, or gold finishes are incredibly eye catching.

Engineered for performance

The A10 Fusion chip, 64-bit architecture, four-core design and over 3.3 billion transistors make the iPad incredibly fast. It’s a natural choice if you do a lot of 4K video editing, play graphics-intensive games, or use the latest augmented reality apps.

Do more things at once

iPad has enough power for you to use multiple apps all at once. Working on a document, while searching the web, and making a FaceTime call is a piece of cake to this device.

The magic of AR

You have to see augmented reality (AR) to believe it. This new technology brings virtual objects into the real world, and the iPad — from display to processing power, to the motion sensors — is designed to make AR apps more magical than before.

From your mind to the page

This 2018 iPad brings you even more ways to put your thoughts onto a page, such as making notes, painting, or signing documents. For example, the Apple Pencil delivers pixel-perfect precision and responsiveness. It’s as easy to use a pencil, but much more functional.

Smart cameras

The front and back cameras let you do more than take awesome shots and shoot great video. You can also scan documents, make FaceTime calls, or even create a floor plan using augmented reality.

Apple iPad (2018) review: Pencil time

This iPad retains the same design as the 2017 release but adds an important new feature: Pencil support. While Apple is happy for anyone to buy the new tablet, it's clear there is a strong focus on education and what a bevy of these coming to the classroom can mean.
Pros:
  • Affordable price
  • Pencil support (and third-party stylus support
  • Works in the same way as Pro models
  • A10 processor
Cons:
  • No Face ID
  • No ProMotion or True Tone
  • No Smart Connectors

9.7-inch iPad 2018

The new iPad 2018 is the cheapest tablet in Apple's range, and it looks just like any other iPad from the past five years. It should be boring. But it isn't. It packs the powerful A10 Fusion processor, costs just £319/$329 (for the entry-level 32GB Wi-Fi model) and it supports the Apple Pencil.
Pros:
  • Great value
  • Slim and light
  • yet powerful
  • Apple Pencil compatible
  • iOS is the best tablet operating system
Cons:
  • Reflective screen
  • Average rear camera

iPad's best bang for your buck!

I retired in June of 2017 and missed using my Company IPad. I held off purchasing one because I thought Apple would release a newer IPad Pro and lower the price on the pro. Well they didn't release a Pro replacement but this IPad 2018 model generation 6 is an upgraded version from last years version...

iPad 9.7 (2018 model)

I'd only owned an iPad mini before this one because of probability. But I went ahead and got the 9.7" tablet, and I'm not disappointed. Feels great in the hands and super thin, which means that by the time you wrap it in a case, it'll feel pretty comfortable.

Great product !

So far so good with this iPad. This is my first one so I have nothing to compare it's performance to. I am learning about all its features and find it fairly easy to operate even though I am a beginner. I will continue to learn about all the different functions as time goes by.
