Bit of a let down

My wife wanted the iPad for Xmas. Personally I thought the Samsung Note was a better all rounder and £100 cheaper at the time, but had to admit that the iPad oozed quality. I bought her the iPad because its 'cool', looks good and has great write ups.

There are apps for displaying music and guitar tablature, doing some finger painting sketches, reading comic books, playing strategy games, planning a tube journey, booking a restaurant, checking your flights. The list is, quite literally, endless.

Great gadget

I am unashamedly an Apple fan-girl. I currently own an iPad, iPhone 4S and Apple TV, and have owned 3 different types of iPod! For me, the iPad is at the top of the tablet tree. It is easy to use (my 85 year old grandma uses it!) and the display is crystal clear for visibility.

iPad 1 is now pretty old and for about the same cost you get better Apple tablets. iPad is the best tablet in the consumer market, its latest versions have always set the bar which so far no other tablet has been able to reach. The built and performance makes it all worth it.

Pros:
  • great display
  • easy to use
  • light to hold
Cons:
  • no camera

Cons:
  • Battery life is among the worst weve ever seen
  • No 4G LTE power toggle option

Apple iPad WiFi + 3G Review: In Depth

Apple has done what Apple knows best; rethought a whole product segment. It's been carried out very well - the iPad is a lovely device to use and we can't fault that wonderfully large screen. If you're in the market for a slate, then the iPad is definitely one of the best around.
