Yoshi's Crafted World

4.0

Yoshi's Crafted World Review

4.0
Verdict: Ever since the first time Yoshi stole the limelight in Yoshi's Island, Nintendo have had a bit of a habit of rendering their characters in new and unusual materials. Mario was turned to paper, Link flattened with cel shading, wall paintings and clay, Kirby to yarn, but it's Yoshi that has...
Pros: Wonderful arts and crafts visuals, Laid back, joyous collectathon platforming, Co-op is a wholesome as it is chaotic, Impossibly catchy soundtrack, Wonderful arts and crafts visuals, Laid back, joyous collectathon platforming, Co-op is a wholesome as it is chaotic, Impossibly catchy soundtrack

Yoshi’s Crafted World (Nintendo Switch)

4.0
Verdict: If you're new to the series, Yoshi's Crafted World has colour and charm to spare, even if its inventiveness is largely limited to its looks. For Yoshi fans, it does exactly what you expect it to, which is perhaps the worst thing we can say about it; it contains few genuine surprises.

Yoshi's Crafted World review: More than just a fluff piece

4.0
Verdict: Yoshi's Crafted World is a graphical masterpiece and a well-balanced platformer caper that'll appeal to new and established gamers of any age. It represents the different approach that Nintendo takes and is yet another notch on the Switch's must-buy list.
Pros: Great looking platformer with wide-ranging appeal, Lots of replayability with reverse levels and additional side-missions
Cons: Really not hard enough for platformer pros, Music is enough to drive anyone insane

Game Review: Yoshi's Crafted World

No reviews
Verdict: Yoshi's Crafted World was first announced at E3 in 2017 and unlike some of the other iconic household names coming to the Nintendo Switch, Yoshi hasn't really had the Super Mario treatment in terms of a marketing push, other than the odd trailer or preview here and there.

Yoshi’s Crafted World (Nintendo Switch)

3.8
Verdict: It is so easy to fall into the trap of thinking every game is made with just us in mind. We want every platformer to satisfy our need for perfect, pin-point leaps. We want our puzzlers to challenge us right to our breaking point before acquiescing to our superior brain power.
Pros: Beautiful, creative design, Simple, but fun puzzles, Boss fights are fun if a little easy, Lots of collectables (which are completely optional, Fun cooperative two-player mode
Cons: Music is disappointingly repetitive, Costumes are a complete waste, Returning to previous levels one task at a time can become tiresome

Yoshi's Crafted World Review – Cardboard Paradise

4.0
Verdict: Yoshi games have always had a rather distinct aesthetic. Yoshi's Island was rendered in lush colors and sketchbook lines. Woolly World was a study in stitching and superb detail. Yoshi's Crafted World takes this torch and makes a most admirable mark in the pages of history.
Pros: The graphics are utterly charming, Every level is something different, Difficulty is just right
Cons: Music gets old fast, Costumes lack variety, Flipped stages are a one-trick pony

Yoshi's Crafted World

4.0
Verdict: One of the most interesting aspects of Yoshi's standalone games is how they've diverged from Mario's, despite the shared roots. It's not just that Yoshi's games have remained scrolling platformers while his plumber pal has fully embraced three dimensions, but in how Yoshi plays around with the 2D...

Yoshi’s Crafted World Review | Great single-player, terrible co-op

3.5
Verdict: Yoshi's Crafted World is the latest in the spin-off platforming series that began with Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island . Since that entry, Yoshi has ditched Baby Mario (thank God) and is off doing his own thing. The gameplay that remained much the same, though.
Pros: Yoshi is absolutely adorable, Costumes and reverse stages add a lot of replay value, Inventive level design, Same great gameplay fundamentals as previous entries
Cons: Music doesn't stand out, Tags

Yoshi's Crafted World (Nintendo Switch) Review

Verdict: Not Yoshi's best adventure to date, but it does a sufficient job of being a kid friendly 2D platformer with an appealing visual style that lends itself well to crafting some interesting levels.

Yoshi's Crafted World (Switch)

2.5
Verdict: Yoshi's Crafty World is a game overflowing with charm. While it feels very much like another game in the Yoshi's Island series, it makes enough changes here and there to freshen it up.

Yoshi's Crafted World review – handicraft hero

3.5
Verdict: The Switch gets a follow-up to Yoshi's Woolly World, with a fun co-op and some charming visuals, but are there any genuinely new ideas
Pros: The platforming mechanics are fun and the handicraft motif looks great. Great co-op and some clever puzzles and themed stages
Cons: Few genuinely new gameplay ideas and the whole flip side concept is used to little purpose. Too much reuse of old enemies and set pieces

Yoshi’s Crafted World (Nintendo Switch)

4.0
Verdict: Good-Feel is known for developing visually unique platformers like Kirby's Epic Yarn and Yoshi's Woolly World. Its latest platformer Yoshi's Crafted World once again stars Mario's dinosaur buddy, except this time he ventures courses entirely designed as arts-and-crafts projects come to life.

Yoshi’s Crafted World (Nintendo Switch)

Verdict: In 1995, Yoshi had his moment. The character's Super Mario World debut was so strong, Nintendo handed the dinosaur sidekick his own sequel. A surprise divergence from the Mario franchise found the character escorting a baby version of the plumber in search of his kidnapped twin.

It's okay

2.0
Verdict: It seems cute. I thought it would be a bit more challenging. While taking turns on it with my little guy it seemed too easy. It might get harder and maybe I set it to the easiest difficulty settings. However, of the games we have, I don't see him playing this one much.
