For the price and after reviewing several other streamers, this Yamaha is well worth the money and holds its own against any higher priced streaming device!
Easy setup; Great sound
I have been delighted with this pre-amp running as a streamer in my existing Naim based system. Highly recommended, easy to setup, superb sound quality, simple to use app on iOS and at a very low cost.
A fantastic product for the price! Networked via a whole-home wired Ethernet in the Player and Direct mode, Enhancer and Bass Extension disabled, a pair of WXC-50s on the network pulling music from a DLNA server, playing back through its internal DAC via AudioQuest BigSur cabling: - Sounds extremely...
I have been using the product for few months now. It is excellent. It plays my music from Windows 10 server (windows media player/turn on media streaming) all ripped in FLAC from CDs with no problem.
A small preamp can do a whole lot of mighty things, as our reviewer finds out when he took this Yamaha streaming preamplifier on a test run.
+ Small footprint; Tremendous bass and excellent on vocals; A little hot on top, so system matching is paramount; And when you get it right, this is one exciting pre-amp with excellent PRAT
– Sans phono input and sadly no SPDIF input either; Otherwise excellent value for money
Multiroom audio is all over the place now, but the company to come up with the best name was also the first: Yamaha. It called and calls its system "MusicCast", and first launched it way back in 2003, a year before there was even a Sonos prototype.
First class multiroom streaming system; quality audio products; support high resolution audio
I regret replacing a ChromeCast Audio device (and SoundBridge before that) with this. Nothing but problems since day one. I have spent significantly more time reinstalling, reconfiguring, and changing WiFi settings than listening to music.
Absolutely great little app which I have got an old quad 306 on the end Jb control 1 pros and an sb5 sub. The sound is superb and it's easy to hook up to Bluetooth devices. The app is very good for basic stuff , I am sure they will develop it over time.
I purchased this item to pair with my Luxman R-115 stereo receiver circa 1987. The Luxman R-115 is now used in my office at work. The Luxman only has RCA inputs so, I needed a device that would accept a USB drive for my digital tunes but output to RCA connections.
Does what I need it to do but will do tons more; Really solid build quality
Would love a better app or WEB app; Flash drive needs to plug directly in the unit with no extension wire
