Love MusicCast

Awesome product. I have two I use to run my deck zone and beach zone. The main advantage is MusicCast. Perfectly synced music through the house and outside. All zones

Perfectly synced music across zones

Impressive little amplifier

I bought this to pair with my 2nd generation Echo and a set of Bose 161 speakers in my kitchen. So far, it has delivered exactly what I wanted. I can control it with Alexa and stream music from the Echo easily. I can also pair it with the living room stereo via MusicCast.

Great little amp

I bought this to drive two very good old speakers but without the usual black boxes and cables. The blue tooth feature means I can enjoy my music again in excellent quality and not have to put up with my top end but thin sound system. Best of all I can find all the music I want from the internet.

High quality modern amp.

The WXA50 is an excellent amp, which has bags of modern features and is highly flexible. Upon opening the box, I was initially taken aback by how small the unit was. As someone whose only prior experience of an amp was a 1980s VCR-sized technics (which, sadly, no longer works reliably enough to...

Yamaha MusicCast WXA-50 Amplifier and WX-010 Speaker Review

If you are the intended audience for the Yamaha MusicCast WXA-50 amplifier, you find A/V receivers too big, black, and boxy. You are happy with two-channel sound but turned off by doghouse-sized stereo amps sitting on the floor. Soundbars may give you Bluetooth, but that isn't enough.

Streams to MusicCast devices; Wi-Fi; AirPlay; Bluetooth; 55 watts per channel; Class D

No headphone jack on amp; No analog input on speaker; Loaded PC may freeze app

Airplay Problem solver

Purchased this to power to two Klipsch WA-650 outdoor speakers. All I had to do was hook speakers to the WXA-50 and connect to Apple Airport express and the speakers were playing!! I was a little worried the amp might struggle with such big speakers but wow was I wrong!

Great for Airplay using Airport express; Great power to size; Very easy to set up

Yamaha MusicCast WXA-50

A lot of multi-room audio speakers are built for convenience and style, rather than pure audio fidelity. The Yamaha MusicCast WXA-50 is a little different. Rather than an integrated all-in-one device, this stereo amplifier lets you hook up your choice of speakers.

Plenty of inputs; Great clarity and bass; Neat and compact

Ugly Wi-Fi antenna; Weedy remote control

Yamaha WXA-50 Streaming Amplifier

AVForums Home Hi-Fi Hub > Stereo Amplifiers > Reviews > Hop To What is the Yamaha WXA-50?

Good all-round amp; Easy to setup and use; Flexible installation; Decent connections; Includes MusicCast; Attractive and well made

Sound is rather restrained; Remote is small and fiddly
