This item works flawlessly. It loads differently than a Sony 5 disk changer I replaced with this. You also have to use the remote to initialize shuffle play as there are limited buttons on the front. All in all I am very happy with this unit.
The CD player works great no issues with it at all. some previous poster talked about disappointment with the remote only features. I don't find these issues to be a problem
Our old Yamaha CD disc changer was giving us trouble. The Tech stores did not carry a replacement. But Walmart.com had the right replacement and I ordered one of two left to buy. We ordered it and it was delivered very packaged ahead of the date promised.
Shame on me for listening, the last 9 years, to a cheap portable 1 bit CD player through my studio quality monitors at home! Shock and awe when i plugged the Yamaha into my system and realized that the acoustics of my house and the din of the children in the background were NOT the reason music...
I'm running through an optical cable. I'll try a different output and see if I get the same result.
Was out of the box and playing within 5 minutes; Easy intuitive setup and operation
Although it sounds great, it does seem to hesitate and "drop out" for a while sometimes on certain cd's; If I clean the cd, it is fine afterwards; My old cd player I've had since college (over 20 years), never showed that behavior.
This amp tuner is all you need for a great all round sound since I've had it my television as not been on and it's a pure pleasure to listen real good sound on all aspects of music
Yamaha CDC 600 CD Player a Quality 5 CD Carousel Player with so much features with the Yamaha you will be impressed
The Yamaha replaces a 25-year old Sony CD changer that was starting to have trouble reading some discs. Although we have a media server with all of our cd's installed, my wife sometimes likes to just load up the changer and plug in her headphones.
Can read both standard cd's as well as MP3 cd's; which is a big plus since some new music is only available via MP3 download
Buttons on the remote and changer are a little small and the display is not as easy to read as the Sony that it replaced
This Yamaha replaced a 20-year-old Denon that I used heavily from new, which finally stopped tracking properly and could not be fixed for less than the cost of a new unit. I hope the Yamaha is as reliable.
Easy Set-Up; Excellent fidelity
Remote has waaay too many buttons; Tiny buttons on master unit; Unreadable icons on both master unit and remote
