A nice upgrade for my Notebook
I was able to upgrade the Notebook by myself without having to have special skills. I followed simple instructions I found in internet about how to restore a disk image. I also found a video indicating how to open the notebook and install the new HDD.

Will Buy Another
Using this as an external backup drive in a Plugable USB 3.0 SATA Hard Drive Lay-Flat Docking Station; this combo is hot swappable, and works for my needs. Keep 1 drive in a fire-safe storage box. So far, the drive meets my expectations.

perfect fit in macbookpro 2009
This drive brought my macbook back to life. The problem was the sata cable to this drive and not the drive so i kept the drive also as it was bigger and quiet and fast.

Finally works after a week of trying
First, I disabled the quick start-up feature in the bios. This allowed the installation to go on while the bios was set to AHCI instead of IDE. Still the installation of Windows XP would stop after the first re-start.
Pros:
- Very small and light weight
- Newegg shipped these in a box, inside the box were 2 more smaller boxes
- Each drive was in it's own box and each drive was in a heavy duty bubble pack pouch
- I was also able to install these in an old Acer laptop using a SATA to IDE adapter.
Cons:
- I have an Acer netbook A0531h
- The hard drive died
- I tested it and it has a bunch of bad sectors
- It doesn't do me any good to have the Acer drive recovery files on then hard drive
- When you need them the drive is dead.

love the freedom of 500gb
Switched this into my PS3. Still working well a year later, love the freedom of 500gb!

Just within 3 days, some cranky sound is coming ...
Just within 3 days, some cranky sound is coming from hard disk. Now as i have some impt data in the system, i cant give it for repair also. Very low quality product from WD

Great for macbook pro laptops
My hard drive for my mac book broke and rather than buying a new mac I was able to replace the hard drive with this one and it worked amazingly and never gave me a problem.

don't hesitate and upgrade your PS3
the short and sweet of it: applied this to my old fat model ps3 to upgrade the 80gb hard drive to 500gb. has not caused any issues and works like a charm. no issues to speak of and highly recommended to anyone looking to expand their digital ps3 library!
