Had a batch of these fail

As great as these drives are supposed to be, I've had several fail on me recently. Out of the last 8 I've bought for customer laptops, 3 have failed so far within the last month, and this is a serious, catastrophic failure.

Fast, but lots of vibrations

This drive is fast, but there's also a lot of vibration, even when the hard drive is idling. The WD Blue would have been a better choice for my plastic Macbook.

While the Western Digital Scorpio Black 500GB laptop drive may not reach the dizzying heights scaled by desktop HDDs, it still is a satisfying product for those who'd like more speed but don't want to buy SSDs which offer low storage capacity currently.

Good stuff

A perfect choice for my PS3 80gb. After i did the backup of my data, i only formatted the new HD and plugged it into the console. It worked perfectly from the first time and it still works. No problem. The best choice if you want to increase the capacity of your console.

This Western Digital is great for a laptop replacement or upgrade. 500gb, full 7,200 RPM, reliable, cheap and power efficient.. You can't ask for much more. You will notice a difference in your laptop's performance if you have a slower drive, and you won't lose battery life either.

Pros:
  • As fast as it gets for a non-SSD drive
Cons:
