Watch Dogs Legion hit at a weird time, releasing for PS4 just a few weeks before next-gen consoles launched, with a free next-gen upgrade available once the new consoles were out.
Beautiful recreation of London; Fast load times on the PS5; The hacker fantasy can be fun to play out
"Play as anyone" is a novelty that is underutilized; Largely average "open-world" game; Politically charged story is sterile; avoids saying anything meaningful; Stuck at a juttery 30 fps even on PS5
By bringing the action to London, Legion presents a fresh take on open-world gaming. Then, of course, there is the ability to literally play as any person in the game, by recruiting them to your cause. This provides many hours of fun, even beyond the intriguing story, which is exactly what we'd hoped for.
Superb near-future London backdrop to explore; The NPC recruitment feature is brilliantly realised; Stunning-looking - especially during night; Long story that will have you playing for many hours;
The accents can be hit and miss; Some of the character generations result in some rather odd-looking people; Some recruitment missions are rinse and repeat;
This game is incredible! The story is so good, it has a mix of watch dogs 1 and watch dogs 2 vive. The characters feel so alive, one enemy called Laura Miller was going to rob someone so I stopped them. Then later on she decided to kidnap one of my operatives out of revenge, it’s amazing.
Watch dogs is so fun and engaging! The graphics are like nothing you’ve ever seen. The story line is as captivating as can be. So just get it. It’s the right decision.
