Review: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

As a new beginning for the Uncharted series, it's hardly surprising that The Lost Legacy doesn't quite scale the transcendent heights of its predecessor. You just don't yet have the same weight of affection for Chloe and Nadine as you did for Nate and Elena.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy review

Toby Hills heads to places unknown in The Lost Legacy, yet feels a strange sense of déjà vu.

Charming characters with relationships that evolve realistically through the game; Stunningly rendered environments

A formulaic plot; A paucity of action set-pieces; Overly familiar for players of earlier games in the series

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Throughout the build up to release, Naughty Dog has been keen to stress that The Lost Legacy is not DLC for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End , and quite rightly too, because this brand new action-adventure very much stands on its own two feet.

Nice addition to the franchise, although a little short

Nice to see the focus moving from Nathan Drake to another character. Another fantastic game from Naughty dog, well worth a buy

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Review – Swinging Through the Finish Line

15 months out from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End ‘s release, Naughty Dog is still king of the action adventure jungle. This new angle on the Uncharted formula, which stars Chloe in a pristine mountain range of India, is often captivating, even though it follows many of the same set of standards that...

Majestic graphics invite Photo Mode; Character performances elevate the storytelling; Great freedom to explore the Western Ghats; Minor gameplay improvements make a difference

Chloe Frazer is great; but the lack of Nathan Drake's wittiness is unfortunate; Tags

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy: "There's a depth there that just hasn't existed before"

While the action sequences might feel like old hat, there's no denying that Chloe and Nadine's very personal adventure will go down as one of Uncharted's best.

Chloe and Nadine make incredibly compelling protagonists; Storyline is one of the best in the series; Absolutely stunning visuals

Feels like big action sequences are rehashed from other games; Gameplay doesn't introduce anything massively new from Uncharted 4

If all that goes off without a hitch, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy can be recommended as a solid buy. It'll certainly please Uncharted fans who've been jonesing for a new game since Drake left us and from an industry perch, its success or failure will be interesting to watch.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Review

When the ancient dust settles on Naughty Dog's latest, we're a bit worse off. We're worse off for having it kicked up by baddies with private military vehicles mounted with giant guns loaded with seemingly endless rounds of bullets.

PlayStation 4 HITS Uncharted: The Lost Legacy 9967101 review

Great story with compelling characters; visually stunning; strong-if-familiar online multiplayer

Mechanically no different to previous Uncharted games; variable quality voice acting; relatively short
