Good game and improving

I honestly really enjoy the game. I had the previous one and enjoyed many hours with friends The only issue is the lack of fighters that really should be in the game, which is why i've taken a star away.

UFC 2

Trying to distill everything that makes MMA so brutal, complex, and amazing to watch is no simple task. EA Sports' first outing in the UFC franchise was an interesting first stab at bringing the intensity of the sport to the console, but it lacked the approachability that helped define their other...

This visually stunning take on the sport of MMA builds on the depth and variety of combat styles that makes the sport so appealing to audiences around the globe

It still remains incredibly difficult to lock in holds; which isn't aided much by the lack of substantial tutorials for both new and old mechanics

Going through the replay in an early match of EA Sports UFC 3 , I caught a look I'd never seen before in a sports video game: hate. Clean, old-fashioned hate.

EA Sports UFC 3

Unlike other sports titles, fighting ones have proved a bit trickier to get right. Much of the problem has to do with gameplay, as the action often resembles little from the real thing.

Spot-on presentation; Well detailed fighters; Licensed roster of fighters

Certain fighting mechanics still need work

EA Sports UFC 2 review

His entrance music blaring, Matt jams in his mouthpiece and heads to the octagon to size up EA Sports UFC 2.

A wealth of moves and modes; Smart grappling mechanics; Ultimate Team is excellent; Joe Rogan cheat code

Feels a little sluggish, and a bit lifeless; Brutally steep learning curve; Some training mini-games are confounding

Round two. Fight!

Like its predecessor, EA Sports UFC 2 captures all the pomp and circumstance of Mixed Martial Arts' biggest promotion. In this case, of course, that pomp is more like an electrifying "pow!

Lifelike visuals are incredible; Slugfests are robust and satisfying; Streamlined grappling makes it a viable strategy

Tutorials are lacking; Career mode needs more personality; Grapple defence is overly cumbersome

EA Sports UFC 2 Review

While certainly looks the part, it doesn't feel it. Strikes are razor sharp, kicks are satisfyingly heavy, and each and every fighter is beautifully sculpted and recreated, but each and every element is too robotic and rigid to recreate the dynamism and unpredictability that draws me to real UFC...

Varied stand-up game; Impressive visuals

Ultimately predictable; Ground game is too rigid; Uninspired game modes

EA Sports UFC 2

Bruising, buggy and beautiful, UFC 2 is a technically triumphant fighter, but its combat can easily flounder and frustrate.

It looks incredible; Ground holds are a tense treat; Knockdowns make you feel 50ft tall

Punches lack punch; Career mode sorely lacks personality; Not enough content on offer
