"Transformers: Devastation - Robots in Disguise"

Transformers: Devastation is a third person brawler based on my favourite animated series from the nineteen eighties (in your face Thundercats and G.I Joe!) Back when I was a youngster I was a huge fan of the Transformers cartoon and the toy line it was based off.

Fun combat; Excellent cell-shaded graphics; Voice talent from the cartoon

Short story; Only has five playable characters; Limited environments

I feel like a kid again.

I live this game. It is the perfect "saturday morning cartoon" game. It plays like an old episode of generation 1 transformers with a way better writing staff and overall budget. It is a fun game and is a pretty cheap by.

Free on Ps plus-october

Please don't buy this game if you're a PlayStation plus member and are looking to buy in October as this is a free title in Ps plus for the month of October.otherwise this is a great game and you should go for it.

Transformers: Devastation

The massive robots in Platinum Games's Transformers: Devastation feel as light and fluid in action as the spry witch from the developer's Bayonetta franchise. They run gracefully and smoothly as they strike their enemies in rapid succession.

Transformers: Devastation review

Transformers: Devastation is a nice return to classic Transformers , backed by the quality of Platinum Games' action-brawler gameplay. The Decepticon bashing is topnotch of the Bayonetta -ilk, despite basic level design, and the art style of the cutscenes is uncanny in being faithful to the source...

+ Visual style spot-on; + Action gameplay; + Combat is much deeper than meets the eye; + Ease of transforming into vehicles

- Bosses are the worst; expect rage quits; - Limited variety in missions; - Short campaign seems to expect replays as every character

While Platinum delivers their traditionally excellent gameplay here, the stench of corporate meddling and the common constraints of a licensed game remain and do make themselves known. There are two levels.

Transformers Devastation

This is Bayonetta dressed up in robot clothes, which is a Very Good Thing. Brilliantly playable, and full of Transformers fan-service, only its brevity and simplistic level design let it down.

Looks and sounds like the 1980s cartoon; Superb; AAA-feeling combat; Grimlock; the transforming robot dinosaur

Disappointingly basic level design; Only about 5 hours long; Requires little variation in technique to succeed

Transformers: Devastation

When Activision sprung the surprise announcement for Transformers Devastation at my E3 meeting for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, I was beyond elated. It has everything I could possibly ask for in a Transformers game: cel-shaded look of 1980s Transformers, original voice actors, and game development and...

Beautiful cel-shaded graphics; plenty of 1980s whimsy; fun combat; and the return of the (mostly) original voice acting crew from the beloved cartoon set up for a delightful Transformers game experience

Repeated boss fights; repeated environments; lack of combat depth; collectibles without that great of a purpose; and lack of expected difficulty tear down the game's potential to be that delightful Transformers game experience

Transformers: Devastation PS4 Review

Despite the toy-line having a popular 1980s cartoon as well as further cartoon series', Transformers: Devastation , with its beautiful cel-shaded visuals, is the first Transformers game of the modern day to be clearly based on a cartoon.
