The X30-E is a powerful business laptop in an exceptionally thin frame, but it doesn't compromise on battery life
Built for business; Good connectivity; High-quality display

Toshiba packed the latest technology and the most powerful options in the Portégé X30-E-12H making it ideal for the power user who doesn't want to feel performance compromised away from their desktop system.
High-performance computing; Great touchpad and keyboard; Type-C charging
Overly thin display; Older NVMe drive tech
Toshiba's Portégé X30 is a solid laptop for business professionals in a corporate environment. It's expensive compared to rival machines from Dell and Lenovo, but it does provide a very good display, robust performance, top-notch security, and rich audio.
I consider $1,600 to be the ceiling for a high-end Windows laptop with an Intel Core i7 and sub-2.5 pound weight. That's how much the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon costs, and at $1,500, the LG gram 14 is even cheaper. If my IT department issued me an X30-D, I would accept it in a heartbeat.
Display offers vivid colors without excessive glare; Speakers deliver robust bass; Good key stability
Expensive; Awkward pointing stick; Relatively small SSD
A business ultrabook that's bristling with features
Good performance; Large selection of ports; Excellent keyboard
Expensive
At a glance, the Portégé x30 has the painfully plain design of a work laptop, but it incorporates some features that we've been seeing take over consumer devices as of late: thin-and-light structure, USB Type-C and Thunderbolt, Windows Hello, and more.
Durable yet lightweight design; Multiple input options (touchscreen; trackpad; and click buttons); Windows Hello IR camera and fingerprint sensor
Best display you can get is FHD; No Precision Touchpad; Shrunken right Shift key is annoying; Battery life doesn't live up to expectations
The first thing that is noticeable about the Portégé X30 right out the box is just how light it is, at just over 1 kg. This, to the extent that when first unboxed, I thought it may be missing its battery (it wasn't), with the razor-thin (15.9 mm) 14" notebook even making my iPad Air feel heavy in...
Thin; Extremely light; Powerful performance for a compact package; Excellent sound
Finicky touchpad; Slightly cramped keyboard
Toshiba's range of high-end business laptops has had a boost with the introduction of the Portégé X30-D . This 13.3-inch laptop is a step up in size from the 12.5-inch Portégé X20W-D . It's a more conventional system, lacking the 360-degree rotation and stylus of the smaller convertible device.
All-day battery life; Two USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports; Fingerprint; face and (optional) smartcard authentication
Only one touchscreen model; Lid section is too flexible
Sleek tablets and 2-in-1s get all the attention these days, but they still take a back seat to traditional clamshell laptops for outfitting business employees. Take Toshiba's flagship Portégé X30 (technically called the X30-D), which combines peak performance with all the amenities that a traveling...
Top performance; excellent battery life; security and manageability enhancements; 3-year warranty; optional Thunderbolt dock
No 4K display option; expensive; touchscreen wobbles
beautiful design; premium materials; sturdy chassis (except display; incredibly thin and light; color accurate screen; fast fingerprint and iris scanners; 2x Thunderbolt 3; runs relatively cool
display flexes easily; fingerprint magnet; underwhelming CPU performance
